  2. Hi Guys the title says it all really I am keen to find this book either to buy or if someone has it scanned?? Thank you in advance John
  3. Hi Guys thank you for the comments This was achieved with simple dry brushing the underlying colour over the stripes until I was happy with the results. The base has attracted the most comments it is simple really. Take a piece of expanded insulation foam and lay down a thin layer of celluclay (Papydur) in Europe. this is mixed with woodland scenic base colour and a drop of white glue. Whilst drying sculpt the trough's with a suitable tool and let it dry. Once dry spray with scenic cement and sprinkle on the static grass, once dry add colour with pigments from your fav brand and there yo

  6. Hi Guys I am after the above kit but am bemused by the high UK price. I would like to find one from someone who has one and doesn't want to build it any more. I will pay a good price though! So if you fit the bill let me know and we can possibly deal John
  7. Hi Rafael I used exclusively acrylics I have now stopped using oils as they take so long to dry but with acrylics I can paint a face in about 1 hour, before it would take several days to do the same. I have just finished the other figure to go with the SU-27 from Mastercasters and will review it shortly. Here is a photo for you Cheers for now keep up the good work. John
  8. Will be there Friday Pm Sat and Sun See you there John

  10. Hi Guys I am currently sitting half way from NY to Virginia beach in Dover De. I am now within a stones throw being just over 150 miles to go . I have so far endured a 175 mile drive through Saturday British weather, Raining all the way to Heathrow. Follwed by a 6.75 hrs trans atlantic flight on a B777 of Air India(very good flight) into JFK. a day in New York (over priced and over rated!) and a day on the road. We are stopping here for another 24 hrs then on to VB for Thursday afternoon. All tolled about 3000 miles so far See you guys there John
  11. Hi Rafael Take a look within this review and you will find the link to a really great web site on Russian pilots gear. here is the latest from my bench the title says it all really MST32024 Su-27 Pilot (Seated) 1/32 scale When this figure was announced I could immediately see that it was designed to go into a Trumpeter Flanker. The pose was a little odd however with some imagination the modeller can see where the figure would fit, with his left arm on the canopy sill and right hand on top of the instrument panel. This makes his quite a useable figure instead of the mundane figures
  12. Yes she is and I will be using the Camett conversion. see here camett John

  15. Hi Guys I have a couple of questions about the up coming IPMS Nationals at Virginia Beach. 1. I am coming from the U.K. and am a member of the UK society does that membership entitle me to compete in the US Nationals? 2. If I pre register and pay the $40.00 does that include my entry to the show or do I have to pay to enter the venue again? 3. I would like to compete however I see that there is a note about excreta! I have a model of a yak 18 which is from the box category which is built in a state of disrepair and has some Birds mess on the surfaces represented by paint. would this dis
  16. HI Barkin mad I went with the silver as the photo's of the later canberras in the aeroguide book show a variety of colours.I was also trying to do her from the kit so I went with their suggestions. I have done a little digging tonight and found some photo's of the aircraft in question on Airliners.net and she appears to have white main gear and wells however the nose appears to be white well but Light aircraft grey gearleg, all wheels are silver. Hope this helps. John
  17. HI GA Modeller the kit is not the best fitting I have ever made but with some carefull trimming and fiddling it can be made to fit. I needed a lot of filler and superglue to get it completed. The surface detail is all recessed and where appropriate there are re inforcing plates too. Cheers for now John
  18. I have just finished the Xtrakit Canberra PR-9 and I used the Gunze paints which are a better match than the Humbrol colour. I found the humbrol colour to be a little dark. The Hemp you mention is correct. just finished canberra PR-9 John
  19. She will be going off for photography tonight. Straight from the box hope you like her. Panited in Gunze Acrylics lots of filler and loads of nose weight. All tolled she has been built in just over a week. She should be in MAI soon John
  20. Hi Guys Several years ago I built a model of this aircraft in 1/32 scale . whilst researching the pilots name below the cockpit I found out it was SQN LDR DM Lewin. Now several years later the very man has contacted me and request any photo's of his aircraft showing clearly his name as his kids don't believe he flew them. any help would be appreciated and forwarded to the very man. Thank you in advance John :)

  22. HI Guys I will be there but as I am coming from the U.K. I do not think I will be able to compete or bring anything. I am combining it with a family holiday and we are already booked. Looking forward to it and saving like mad! John
  23. My personal favourite is to use very thin Paynes Grey oils wash over dried Klear. I believe that browns look too Brown but this grey works well as it dries slightly translucent and does not effect the underlying colour appart from making it darker which is what we are after Right? I thinn it with cheap White Spirits. John
  24. Will be there Friday Saturday and Sunday with the 32 SIG come along and say Hi John :D
