  1. I think the nose issue of the Kinetic kits are for the single seaters only.
  2. Thank you guys. Thanks Pete, I should have read your post before I did the silly thing Wrong sequence of painting...should have sprayed the engine area, then mask it before decals and top-coat... The aftermath: Some patches had be pasted back by Mr Mark setter...otherwise, it would look like a bald pack. But I think I would need replacement decals anyway
  3. I have just got my decals partially peeled off (and hence destroyed) when removing the masking tape on them... I thought my several layers of semi-gloss coating was enough to protect them... I tried to repair by applying Mr. Mark setter and then scrap off the masking tape but could not repair the damage...I now need to find the decal replacements... Anyone have similar experience? or is it a well known rule "never mask on decals"?
  4. Excellent job Really like how your finished viper look! Great work!
  5. Finally done!! Belgium F-16A FA-67 ‘White Falcon’ Demo 1998 1/72 Hasegawa F-16A plus Eduard PE set 73235 Paula Models ACES II seats Daco products decals Reference: Dressed to Kill – One-off Air Force Color Schemes by Mark Attrill (got 3 beautiful color pics of this bird) Colored by Mr. Hobby white Top coat by several coats of Mr Hobby super clear Semi-gloss clear coat. Finishing touches with a light oil wash and dry brushed the cockpit area. I especially liked the photo etch set, really added a lot of detail to the 20+ year old Hasegawa kit. Hope you like it. Regards, Chris
  6. Finally done!! Can't believe I can finish in time!! (I had to take a few days of annual leaves for it!!) I especially liked the photo etch set, really added a lot of detail to the 20+ year old Hasegawa kit. Top coat by several coats of Mr Hobby Semi-gloss clear coat. Finishing touches with a light oil wash and dry brushed the cockpit area. Hope you like it. Regards, Chris
  7. The A-7 is a decent kit, I've got the A-7E, which looks good. Heard the A-10 is ok too. Hope this helps. Chris
  8. Thanks Andrew, I am planning to give it a very light wash. Hope it'll turn out fine.. Regards, Chris
  9. Update progress: Decals on!! Although the number of decals are small for the Daco sheet, it took me a little longer than I expected...the large decals are tricky to put on, especially the two on the top side of the main wings, there are many bumps on the wing tips...quite tricky...need some touch-up with paints... This is the first time I used Daco Decals, when first applied, it looked pretty thick and not easy to bend, but after ~1 minute, its texture 'changed', especially when I applied mark softer. I am happy with the results. My favorite - the claws!
  10. Didn't know about the major surgery when I bought the Italeri kit...time to save money...
  11. ;) Great build!! How was the kit? How does it compare to the Italeri kit?
  12. Thanks Julien, Some updates. The plane is now ready for Decals. Closeup on the wings. There is a step between the fuselage and the wings, I had spend a lot time trying to eliminate it... Result of the 'tail' after sanding and some putty. Result not very good...I'm no good at re-scribing panel lines. Underside. (I know the building sequence is strange...) Two more pics especially for Julien...the PURPLE HK$10 note! ;) Hope you like it!
  13. Progress so far: Many PE went on the underside of the plane: The original Hasegawa kit has few details in the landing gear bays... Front landing gear: Just discovered the tail of the F-16A plus kit is different from the Belgium F-16...it should be the MLU version (would F-16 experts correct me if I am wrong). Luckily, I just purchased an Academy KF-16C, which happened to have a suitable tail that is not used by the kit itself! Before conversion: After conversion: Please feel free to comment...this is the first time I used PE parts for planes, and first time trying to modify
