  1. That’s quite a task to build! Some of the current Spangdahlem F-16s are over her at Mildenhall on exercises at the moment - quite near me. Haven’t seen any yet, but the Aviano F-16 that were here a year or so ago were fun.
  2. Another Skunkmodels R-11? It’s a nice kit. I finally built a Spang F-4G and put lights in it (nose wheel, wing tip & tail anti collision beacon) plus a Spang F-16. I am now up to 8 different F-4s and 6 F-16s. Nowhere near as many as you have
  3. Very well. Has been too warm to get much done. Are you building more aircraft, buildings, ground equipment or some of everything?
  4. Hi Philippe, I was flicking through your thread again today looking for ideas. How are things going?
  5. F-117? They visited Lakenheath so I am sure they were at Spangdahlem at some point
  6. Love that scene across the F4s and F16s
  7. What could it be? Something stealthy? Maybe a visiting Blackbird?
  8. If you want a smile Russ this is the link to the clip of the B-52 arriving at Duxford. Allegedly the shortest runway a B-52 ever landed on. It was never going to fly out anyway, and I hear that the impact of the landing added somewhat to the body side creases!
  9. Nice diorama & love the vehicles, stands etc. The B-52 always seems to have creases down the side. This is the Duxford one - it landed shortest strip recorded for a B-52 which didn’t help with the condition of its side panels And we had a nice bit of coverage of a B-52 at Mildenhall last year when one heading back had a double engine fire and made an emergency landing - as someone said at the time the dreaded 6 engine approach. So shots of the engine panels open shortly a after landing keep up the good work
  10. Like it! From the Lakenheath spotters area earlier this year
  11. Quick question Philippe, what decals do you use for your Euro One F-4Gs? Have an F-4G kit but only 2 tone grey decals for SP. I can only see Milspec decals online but they seem out of stock
  12. That back scene is excellent. Really brings it alive, and the HASes, aircraft, etc all excellent as usual
  13. Know what you mean. My interest is mainly RAF, so what lightline diorama from 70s & 80s would be complete without a Mammoth Major tanker? But no one does 1/72 or 1/76 (I think there may have been a kit listed on Scalemates but I can’t see it available anywhere). My interest is 1/48 and the same is true. I ended up converting a Corgi 1/50 Bedford civilian tanker in to an RAF one. This is it with a collection of kit & scratch ground equipment
  14. Built something that would look at home on your airbase Philippe. I went to RAF Bentwaters and the museum has a nice NF-2 Floodlight set. I wanted one in 1/48 but no one seems to make a kit, so a scratch built one with working lights Happy new year to you too
  15. Just finishing an RF-4C but in Alconbury markings. Will be driving past what is left of RAF Alconbury next weekend
  16. Wheels can’t be as bad as the ones that come with the old ESCI GR1
  17. Not seen a Kitty Hawk Jag build go smoothly yet but not tried it. The Airfix / Revell Jag is a bit basic, but not quite as basic as the Harrier GR3. Nice twin Jag build on Brit Modeller at the moment with lots of extra detail being added. Just starting a Revell Tornado ADV at the moment so looking for any build tips.
  18. That’s very true @Eri - any one put together a gallery of Mr Shammas’s work? There are various photos and web postings out there but I can’t find a single place to enjoy his work together. I was a fan of his long before I found that he had posted on this forum.
  19. Thank @Charlie D. yes 1/48 Esci/ERTL - think that became the Monogram kits too. Just changed the decals to do a Lakenheath F-4. Have a Italeri RF-4C to do some time soon - going for an Alconbury bird then. Not sure wether to go for SEA camo or Euro Ond This is is the real version of the F-4D
  20. I like your engineering hangar Philippe. I have ride to do something similar when I saw the following picture on a webpage I actually wondered if it was a model. It is not - it is the adutch airforce engineering facility at Hoofdorp. So I wondered if it could be made in to a model. My attempt is not really complete. Needs more details and lighting I even vent have a Dutch F-16 to pose in it.
  21. Sounds like kids hanging around outside a library trying to mooch free WiFi. Sub full of Russians going ‘do think we can get signal on our phones if we hang around by these cables?’
  22. Cheers @Joel_W been on other forum but new on here
  23. Thanks guy for the kind comments. Just picked up an RF-4C kit so looks like an Alconbury phantom will be joining them soon
