  1. you know what - I like that. I also do 1:72 and think I may had a go at one!
  2. Very nice - like the rusty bits! What paint did u use for that?
  3. Can't wait to see this finished. I grew up just down the road from Lakenheath and they were the planes of my childhood flying over in the 70s & 80s. I remember the roar in the middle of the night when they went on that raid!
  4. This is the 1:72 Academy USN EA-18G "ShadowHawks". The build is straight out of the box and airbrushed with a mixture of Tamiya and MIG paints. I have left this aircraft pretty clean, although I saw a picture of an EA-18 with almost green (I have used RML Grey) looking beaten up drop fuel tanks. I have added them to this model to try and break up the colour scheme a bit. Although you cant see it here in the photos - the iconic "ShadowHawks" wording is down either side of the drop fuel tanks. Here is a top down view into the cockpit - I have painted the internal cockpit in

  6. Haven't built it yet - just in the middle of a 1:72 F18 G so it's still on my build list
  7. Just added my Leman Tank into the armour display case section. Must admit the Warhammer people do real good detail on their models.
  8. Not sure if I am going to b chased out of town for this, but here is the Warhammer 40k version of a tank. If you ignore the Laz cannon sticking out the front, the overall shape looks like something from WWI with a large gun bolted to the top! I have shown it looking banged up, scratched and dirty Here are a couple more shots Hope u like them
  9. Phew! I thought it was only me that hit the Warhammer stuff during this lockdown!! Very nice model love the colours! I just built a Leman Russ tank, may try and squeeze it into the armour section.....
  10. Very nice! I like it when they look dirty! I built the same model and went for the grey top, white underside look. Now want to do another but like this in the low-vis scheme.
  11. These models are from 1:72 Hasegawa F/A-18 Super Hornet E/F 'USS NIMITZ CVW-11 Special Box Part 1' Both models come in the same box and can be built as either both E or F variant. I have done 1 of each. Patchs for each squadron are included. Here is the F variant from the VFA-154 Black Knights squadron The 2nd aircraft I have built as the E variant with the VFA-147 Argonaut's squadron
  12. I saw a similar aircraft a few years back on the runway at Lakenheath Base in Suffolk. The aircraft seem to look rather patchy on the upper surfaces and there was a lot of soot around the gun opening. I also notice the front panel which covers the front wheel well was dented and a lot of the paint had been scrapped off. Speaking with a maintainer, he told me a bird had clipped the underside of the aircraft and bounced off air scoop and hit the starboard underside fin near the tail. I have tried to capture this little bit of damage on the front panel and a scratch on the air scoop with some mor
  13. Thanks for your feedback picknpluck - what's the best way to bend the rotors?
  14. Really nice - what colour grey is that and which make?
  15. Thanks for the advice tank - I will see if I can pull it apart and try that approach
  16. Very nice! Love that glossy look did it take a lot of polishing? If do what did u use?
  17. Thanks the_baphoment! Not to happy with the top on the rotor. It wouldn't glue and in the end I used super glue, took my eye off it while it was gluing and the top slipped. Need to go back and maybe take it off and reset. Thanks for your feedback.
  18. I saw a MH53-E fly over me when I was in holiday in Florida last year and thought I would love to build one. Managed to get close and a take a couple of pictures, she was quite a dirty beast so I have tried to show here as I saw her. So again this one is straight out of the box with no extras, but I did have a problem with the rotor head and you can see in the pictures! She also has the framework in place for towing (I think) the mine clearing sled. Look forward to your comments

  20. Yes love the modern US Navy birds. Currently build an MH-53E Black Stalleons! Then it's another F-18 with the electronic pods on it, F16C and finally a MV-22 Osprey. All 1:72 scale will post them as I do them
  21. Very nice - those Brengun air intakes look much better than the ones from the box. Were they easy to fit?
