aircav replied to f4h1phantom's topic in Helicopter Modeling
Hi Jorge There's another shot over on the page below and it looks like the radome folds up inside the fuselage. http://www.16va.be/page_mi-8r.html Hope this is of some help. Steve -

Many thanks Niels, it does look as though the cockpit was Blue on the Model D. The photo's of the Model G has a very interesting cabin heat too, never seen it entering on the right-hand side before like that. All the best Steve :thumbsup:/>

Hi I fancy having a go at a Norwegian Air Force Bell 47D using the 1/35 Academy kit but I'm struggling to find any in-service photo's. I've seen the walkround photo's of the one in the Forsvarets Flysamling, Gardermoen, north of Oslo over on a Russian web site, but there's no shots of the instrument panel and I'm not sure if the cockpit originally was Blue as it is now, can anyone help please?. Many thanks Steve

aircav replied to scooter's topic in Helicopter Modeling
Hi Adam, Fujimi only do a 1/48 Wasp, I know there is a box of their's with a Scout on the front but its a Wasp inside. The kit itself, it needs a lot of work to get an accurate Wasp, about the only thing you keep is the fuselage and main blades. Here's a couple more drawing's All the best Steve -
Scale Aviation Modeler Jan.79 Westland Wasp HAS.1 article
aircav replied to scooter's topic in Helicopter Modeling
From what Colin and Jon siad at Telford it should be next year, 2014. One thing to remember about the Airfix Scout is that it was modelled on the prototype and is smaller that the inservice Scout and there for the Wasp too if you convert one. All the best Steve -
Asking of the most recent release of the Revell 1/32

Hi The 04422 boxing of the 1970 1/32 Huey came out in 1995. Hope this is of some help Steve -

Hi Keith, you did a great job on the old Scout, built quite a few myself and I have very fond memories of the her as my Father was REME/AAC and use to work on them in Aden/Malaya plus Germany in the 60's-70's as well as the Sioux. I think about the only thing you missed off was the counterbalance weights added to the skids when the SS11's are fitted. Great job and all the best Steve

Here's the other side for you Gertjan. All the best Steve

Near enough on the colours. :D
-
There is one on with the kit but it's wrong as Italeri have it as one box but there are two which sit between the tail rotor shaft and the fuel tanks, they have the radio gear in them, you'll see them on the British, Australian and New Zealand Sioux's. :D Hope this helps Steve
-
Hi, The Army Air Corp Sioux's in Aden were painted in the standard green overall with brown camo added to the cabin section and fuel tanks as can be seen in the pics below, there wasn't much difference between the AAC machines and those of the Royal Marine, as for weapons I think it was rare for them to fly armed other than may be a pistol,SMG or SLR for the Pilot and/or Observer but I have included a GPMG picture.

Blame Aliens, all thoughs bits of electronic info floating about and some Alien say's lets mess with the Earthlings. :D

Hi Philippe, Many, many thanks, that is what I was after and it looks like I can scale the width of the stripes from the drawing too. many thanks again and all the best Steve
-
Hi Don Thanks for the link but I'd already looked through airliners.net and there isn't any of the version I want to do, as I say its the camo version with the red and white wing and fuselage stripes and somewhere I've seen the sizes of the stripes and crosses but can't remember where. Steve ps, the pic is the type of scheme info I'm looking for.
-
Hi Steve I've had a look at the link and I'm not sure how it answers my question, I must be missing something. Steve

Hi, I managed to pick-up a Revell boxed 1/48 Junkers Ju-52/3m.g.4e yesterday at the local model show for a very good price. I would like to build her during this summer as a Swiss Air Force machine in the camoulage with the red and white stripes and somewhere I have seen what size the stripes and crosses should be but I can find it anywhere, can anyone help please? Many thanks Steve
