  1. Outstanding, John.

The FM lit is excellent, but I still have a fondness for the Hasegawa kit. Glad to see you working both!

Think you may have stuck a refueling boom into this airplane?

P.S. Can you post a picture of the model after the Spook was added to the intakes, please?

[the speed brakes would open] just after landing and, they would open briefly, back on the ramp in chocks, then close up before the aircraft shut down.

The speed brakes were "cracked open " in the landing configuration (there is no cockpit indicator, so a count of three one-hundreds was about right) Reason for the deployment is that in case a go around is required, retracting the speed brakes gives an instant increase in thrust ... while the slow spooling engines come back up to full speed.

On normal landing, the speed brakes are deployed to full open after touchdown to provide aerodynamic braking ... if required.

I only took 5 or 6 pics of the Meng and put in on Plastic Pics as well [as the F-104]

Thanks. Unfortunately I no longer have the time or patience to wade through Hyperscale's ads.

    Beautiful workmanship!

P.S. PM me if you intend to work on your Hasegawa kit.

Gene, what is on the centerline of 'Sandy'  ...?

Wall to wall unfinned Napalm, Kev --  two each on wing TERs, three on centerline MER as per this:

Heck, I'd buy one in a heartbeat - but only if that figure is included.

You could get an updated 3D figure, but it would look more like 1/32 than 1/48.

The only reason for that unusual rear fuselage breakdown is to allow them to do an accurate Strike Eagle rear fuselage.  Interesting.

I think you're Tongue-In-Cheeking? So what's required to get a Strike Eagle out of the forthcoming/assumed FM F-15DJ?

And do you happen to know whether or not Mr Ernie Gee is still stocking up his G-Factor Models brass bits to the shops?

    No idea, Gwen.

I just hate wasting bandwidth starting a new thread to which maybe few to no-one is going to reply to ... .

Changing title early on would have been clever, but ... this thread has already gotten 500 views (including mine) thanks to @flybywire's scintillating title.

[Col Olds} Great guy, but these markings have been done to death. So many other good marking choices to pic from.

I kind of like these Cam Rahn Bay 1969 markings:rolleyes::

Ordnance choices could be tailored to In-Country Close Air Support vice Out-of-Country Air To Air ... napalm, Snakeyes, gun pod, rockets, CBUs, 250, 500, 750 1.000 and 2,000 pounders ... and the list goes on.

Would be "nice" to see these markings (including a 557TFS Spook on the intakes) on a Tamiya F-4C !

Check out this outstanding model for some foreign F-4C markings.
