  1. For sure. I just pulled one out of storage to "stick" together this morning ... to see how my F-4 3D printed exhausts fit. Short can for the 104C, and long for the G. @Quixote74 Has Academy ever reboxed Revell/Monogram? I know they've gone the other direction. I like the new generation Hasegawa G models because, among other things, they have full J-79 afterburner tubes, as well as opening canopies. Gene K
  2. Academy has a 1/72 F-104G, but this listing is for a C model. Since the boxart shows a refueling probe, it may be the Italeri kit. Evidently due in September. Anyone have more info about this kit? Gene K
  3. In my case, careful piece placement and photo editing are responsible for the illusion. Interesting post on FineMolds site this morning with the caption "F-2B molded product is ready. It's time to start bagging" : Ahead of the scheduled August release? @Craig Baldwin - outstanding job on the cockpit, including the plumbing additions. Gene K
  4. Yes, compared to the rest of this great kit, the gun muzzle fit isn't the greatest, but ... the ONLY piece on my kit that had flash on it (significant) was Part B10, a panel just to the rear of the gun cover. Unfortunately that very prominent piece will require careful trimming, fitting and filling: My initial fill: Major pieces click together! Gene K EDIT: Craig, your post showed up as I was typing. Thanks for that review - you've been doing your homework.
  5. @Craig Baldwin and I have had the kits for a couple of weeks (thanks to HLJ Private Warehouse ), and we've been comparing notes. He is way ahead of me in the build and I suspect he will present a summary of his experience shortly. Great modeler, he is. I think the kit is great in all respects - packaging, molding, fit, and accuracy. I've read some concern about filling the seam in the full length duct, but it will be a simple fill since the fit is tight. The duct design, in my opinion, is a great alignment feature that I'd like to see in other kits. Sure have come a long way sinc
  6. On a YouTube video, one can click CC (Closed Captioning) and then in Settings select Subtitles/Auto Translate/English (or another language if desired) to get a clue as to what is being said ... but the translation is extremely rough and requires imagination. The FineMolds president must have a tough accent/dialect that YouTube Translate has trouble understanding. Gene K
  7. Any chance you could share who "someone" is ... like perhaps a link? Thanks, Gene K
  8. Quinta currently has a cockpit set for the 1/48 HobbyBoss kit, which I think (hope) will fit the Academy kit. Gene K
  9. Even with some perspective correction, the art looks a bit wonky. The sooner the kit gets to me, the better ... so I can backdate it to this outstanding art: Gene K
  10. Thanks, HomeBe. Should be a good seller, and I'm looking forward to backdating it, like some others. Gene K
  11. Thanks Solo - great reference! For those who are going to download this treasure chest, a shortcut is to copy and paste the above link into the browser address bar, change the 0 to 1, and hit return - the download will start to your computer (file is a .rar). Gene K
  12. Is that the particular model you are building? Thanks for the chest bump, Gregg. Gene K
  13. I initially thought that the F-2A/B kits would have a single and two-seat top fuselage inert ... but the F-2A fuselage top is one piece front to back. So here is the F-2B fuselage in-progress from FineMolds: Gene K
  14. Excellent article, Jon ... and beautiful outcome. Gene K
  15. Gabor, I just came across this thread while looking for reviews of the "new" KP MiG-19 ... and was amazed (as usual) by the detail and background you provided!! Thanks very much (as usual). Gene K
  16. Haneto, Your eyes are MUCH more critical than mine . Based on the limited photos I've seen, I think the fit looks great ... a fact that I'll have a chance to validate next week Gene K
  17. For those wanting a closer look like this, go to https://nippper.com/2022/05/57406/ (I use use Chrome and "Translate to English"). Gene K
  18. Here are some very impressive F-2A and F-2B panel line washed models from FM: Gene K
  19. And you still have the same observations/conclusions after analyzing all those other views???? Gene K
  20. Looking for this kit (or decals): Italeri 1/72 F-86 Kit # 1426. Thanks, Gene K
  21. As I said a few posts above: ... the F-2A kits are still expected to ship to dealers at the end of May (31 May). That means dealers like Hobby Search and Hobby Link Japan will have them on hand to ship to customers in the first week in June. The F-2B is still on track for "sometime" in August. Gene K
