  6. Hi, Would not be more profitable for Trumpeter to release a 1/48 Mig-23? It seems to me that there are more people doing 1/48 scale aircraft than 1/32, but I might be wrong. If you check ARC submittions or galleries, most of the them are 1/48 as well. In addition to that, in model contests, I can only see four or five 1/32 jets against twenty or more 1/48 jets. But anyway, if Trumpeter releases the Mig-23 in the two scales, everybody will be happy. Juan
  7. Hi Thommo, I always use artist oil paints. Either black, gray or brown. What I like about this method is that besides hightlighting the panels lines, it also gives a subtle dirty finish to the paint. Of course, you have to prepare the paint with a cured gloss clear finish. The one I prefer is Floquil gloss clear . Let it dry for one day and is ready for the application of the oil paints. I believe I posted some pictures showing the method I use here in ARC. Let me see if I can find them. Thank you. Juan Solorzano
  8. Hi Chris, For the camo I used Humbrol 27 for the gray and Humbrol 102 for the green. I found them to be a bit light, but i knew that with the panel lines wash, the color would darken to get a more accurate color. Thank you. Juan Solorzano
  9. Hi everybody, Here is my most recent model finished. It is the 1/48 Heller Mirage IVP. Since it is an old model with raised panel lines, I decided to scribe them. I know there is a scribing set designed for this model; however, I was unsuccesful trying to get one. Thus, I scribed the panel lines with the standard method (ruler, tape, scriber, pencil, etc). I also used a Neomega cockpit set that by the way it is very detailed and it fits with no much problem. I used Humbrol paints for the main scheme and a mix of Testors, Gunze, Floquil and Mr. Color for the rest. Here are some pictures of
  10. Hi, Here is my 1/48 Heller Mirage IVP in progress. I have the some shots of the finished cocktpit. I used the Neomega cockpit with the Mike Grant cockpit details. Neomega set is very good detailed and it fits in the fuselage very well with almost no surgery. The panel lines have been scribed and the slats have been cut from the wing. Still need some clean up but it almost ready for the base color. More pictures coming. Comments welcome. Juan Solorzano
  11. Hi Mad Viper, The mounting of the landing gear into the Aires wheel bays was very straightforward. I did not have any trouble. By the way the wheel bays are very nice and the fit is also very acceptable. Thank you. Juan
