  1. I concur about Pegasus Hobbies -- great shop. It was maybe a year ago that I bumped into a Hasegawa 1/32 Bf109K-4 on their shelf at the old price. The chap behind the counter said it was not their policy to raise prices of old stock. Nice shop and nice staff. I stop in only a few times a year as it is quite a distance from my house. Always enjoy the experience. Bill
  2. I've had the DC600R since January and I am very satisfied with it. It is quiet and the air pressure is easily regulated. There is even a little rest for the airbrush on top. I highly recommend it! Bill
  3. Greay idea, I've got an F Mk VI Mosquito of the Banff squadron that needs to be built.
  4. I attended AMPS and congratulate you on your model and award -- well deserved. Bill
  5. I saw the sprues at the AMPS Convention last weekend -- they were very impressive. Nicely detailed, and what looks like a logical assembly without too many fiddly bits. I'm looking forward to building this kit. Oh, yes, the barrel is one piece. Bill
  6. Fifi flew over the house today at 10:00am. Didn't have a camera on the lawnmower, sorry.
  7. No photos, sorry. Sunday, while working on the yard, I heard heavy rotor noise. CH-47's? Ch-53's? No, a couple of V-22's at low altitude. The rotors were at about 45 degrees. The leading noise level was very high, but following noise a whisper. I'd never seen them over the house before, Santa Clarita is far from a Marine base. A great sight!
  8. Out doing yard work and heard and felt pwerful blade noise. What kind of copter was it? TWO V-22's flew over at low altitude. Lots of preceding noise, very very quiet going away. My first time seeing them over Sant Clarita. Bill
  9. Received a Paasche DC600R compressor yesterday. I plugged it in and shot some MM RLM76 on a couple of "109's today. Very easy setup -- attach the airbrush hose. Much quieter than my pancake compressor, easy to adjust, holds pressure well. I recommend it as a relatively inexpensive tank-type compressor. I bought it from Micro-Mark for $250, delivered (3days from NJ to CA!) This was during a 15% off sale. I've seen it elsewhere fro $256 delivereed. If you are contemplating a new compressor, it is worth researching. Bill
  10. Wow!!!! A truly impressive modeling job. I have just acquired the KP kit, but have no illusions my model will be anything but a shadow of your effort. This is an inspirational thread. Thank you for your great example. ( mine is likely to turn out to be one of the Peruvian "los Tigres") Bill
  11. Ventura decals does "03" in 1/32 scale. Bill
  12. I side with Crazy Snap Captain, I built several for my son when he was 5, 6 and 7. Mine were 1/48th scale, but smaller a/c, p-51, MiG - 17' etc. They held up fairly well, with a few repairs of tailplanes. He still has them at 14. Bill
  13. Attended the Brewer Brothers model swap meet, contest, etc. at the Yanks Air Museum in Chino. A nice little collection, by the way. First, reduced admission ($9.00), second, picked up a Revell boxing of the Hasegawa BF 109G-4 for $15.00. I am ignoring the fuel cost there and back. Bill
