  1. These are some pics I took at the Tullahoma, TN airshow in 5/06. In addition to the "Airshow Special" aircraft I took a couple of detail photos of CF-188A 188709, including the extended IFR probe, searchlight and some vent detaiils. http://s20.photobucket.com/albums/b229/DDo...8A%20425%20Sqn/ Comments Welcome.
  2. Pics from the 5/27/06 Tullahoma, TN Airshow. http://s20.photobucket.com/albums/b229/DDonSS3/DC-3/ As always, comments welcome.
  3. Haven't seen any pics of Hasegawa's cockpit yet, does it really need a resin replacement? Expiring minds want to know.
  4. Saw an ad recently in a model magazine (FSM?) for Squadron. Apparently they're doing a Firefly book in their Walkaround series.
  5. Yeah, but if they do one and keep the price in the $35-40 range (or below of course) I'm in for one.
  6. Thanks, Jason. I don't expect I'll see one of those here in Central Tennessee. :-(
  7. I've gotta' ask, Jason, how did you come about the BAe Photo CD? (He asks, keeping fingers crossed, hoping it's a freebie like Saab's Gripen book)
  8. Another place to try for Spitfire Decals: http://www.decalco.com/aviao4801_15.htm
  9. That's the "Crankcase Cover." I'd use whatever variant of FS 16081 you can find. IIRC it's also known as Seaplane Gray.
  10. Did a Google search and came up with these: http://www.google.com/images?as_q=norway&s...earch=&safe=off HTH
  11. You may have seen this already, but it may be worth looking at: http://www.jpsmodell.de/dc/luft_flug_e.htm#f4
  12. I prefer to use MM Steel, then use Tamiya Smoke as a wash. Looks pretty effective to me. Also, here's some pics of an R1830 I took some years ago. Granted, it's a museum piece, but it may give you some ideas. http://s20.photobucket.com/albums/b229/DDonSS3/R-1820/
  13. Don't know about add-ons, but you'll want to strengthen the inside of the fuselage seams with some plastic strip. Those fuselage seams are long and kinda' weak. May save you some regluing and multiple rounds of filling and sanding. Also, IIRC you'll have a slight mismatch in length at the nose, but nothing that's not fixable. I built mine way back when the kit first came out, so details are just slightly fuzzy.
  14. I took these photos at the Tullahoma Airshow this past May. Unfortunately there aren't any real good overall shots, but you may still find some useful cockpit and gun turret details. http://s20.photobucket.com/albums/b229/DDo...PV-2%20Harpoon/

  16. I keep wondering if the re-engining program for the BUFF wil ever take place. Need some of those big round engines. Like CFM-56s or whatever the latest big turbofan is. As much power as these new engines put out, the BUFF may only need TWO of them! Talk about cutting down fuel costs…
  17. I've posted some B-25J pics from the 1996 or '97 JRB Willow Grove, PA airshow. Don't know what happened with the one overall shot, but I think the Bomb Bay pics may be useful. http://s20.photobucket.com/albums/b229/DDonSS3/B-25J/ Comments welcome.

  20. IIRC their Cessna 150 had the slanted lettering. I could be wrong, tho, it's been awhile since I looked at the kit.
  21. Actually, the windscreens on F-4s weren't tinted. Some time ago, Dave (Williams?) a long-time F-4 maintainer stated (IIRC) on RMS that he hadn't seen any F-4s where the glass was actually tinted. It's just that from certain angles, due to the thickness of the armored glass, it looks green. I guess the same effect as when you look at a piece of plate glass from it's edge it has a greenish tint to it.

    B-24D to B-24H

It really would be easier starting from a Monogram B-24J. Maybe you can find someone to swap kits. That being said, Koster's B-24 set(s?) may be the way to go. It's a vacform set with the turrets molded in such a way that you don't have that gawd-awful seam running right down the middle of the "glass." I don't have one of these sets, maybe someone on the board has one they could take pics of?
  23. Here's a link to some photos I took in 1996 or 97. It's a US Army (or NG) aircraft, not Israeli, but the details may be useful. http://s20.photobucket.com/albums/b229/DDonSS3/AH-1S/ I posted this link not too long ago, so for some of you it may be a repeat.
  24. It's the Airfix kit with resin and etched metal bits. A very nice kit without all the goodies IMHO. Try here for some comments: http://www.network54.com/Forum/149674/thread/1153604882/ HTH
  25. Hmmmmm, sounds like a good use for those S-3s that were prematurely retired. Tanks under the wings and in the bomb bay that all feed in to release chute(s) in the sonobuoy launch tube area. Hey, I could be onto something! :-D
