A King Air has been on my wants list for a couple of decades, too. Ever since flying on a C-12 from NAS Brunswick to NAS Norfolk, I've been wanting one.

that kit is on my want-to-buy list
your kit looks to be well-built and well-photographed.
All I can add is "ditto."

I don't know why but I am completely unable to type in my entire response to this post. I keep getting internal errors and this post is expired or deleted every time I hit post or save. I typed this entire post this morning and am just able now to save it.
I've heard that some guys with long posts will compose it on a word processor, then copy and paste it into your post. Maybe that will help.

The release I've got came with PBJ-1H decals. Unfortunately, my sheet is pretty decrepit, so it will need replacing at some time in the future.

Nice save, Charlie. That is really sharp looking. Which kit is this?

I remember reading that somewhere years ago. I can't recall where the author got his info, or whether he figured it out from looking at photos… IIRC, it's somewhere on the order of a quarter inch, but I'm not 100% about that. Somewhere (there's that word again) in the started A-20B/C I've got, I think I wrote down the measurements. I started it sometime n the late 90s, back when Eduard's PE was just etched brass with no painting or self-adhering.

It may be worth looking here:

Not guaranteeing what you're looking for is there, but it may be worth a look.

Looks like this eBay link works now:

Very well done, Jon.
Any "gotchas" to watch for?

You did a great job on the venerable Monogram kit.

This may be worth a look:

Look at the "Operators" section.

You need a photo host like Flikr, Imgur or Postimage. Are you doing that? You need to upload your photos to one of those types of sites, then post the appropriate link here.

The late B conversion stated above is after the ASW package was removed from the Bravo's, and AW's like myself were taken off the Viking. (Sad day, and STUPID move). If you're wanting to represent an S-3B in its Hey-Day, you're gonna need all 60 chutes. I've never bought the ES-3 kit, so I don't know what they added and omitted. There's some aftermarket stuff I already have for mine, and a few I didn't know about. Gonna have to order them! :-)

I tried to go VS every time I came up for Sea Duty, but the detailer always told me he didn't have any available slots. I was in VP from 1975-95 as an SS-3, although I did get plenty of acoustic work at the different TSCs where I was stationed…
I agree 100% with you, getting rid of the S-3 was a monumentally stupid move. I hope it doesn't come back to bite the USN in the fool.

I don't think the Chinook ever got the CARC scheme as a fleet. Maybe individuals here and there. Most photos I've seen of US Army Chinooks show them in what looks to me like a faded OD.

If an aftermarket prop will work for you, Obscureco's resin prop is very well done.

It's a pretty good price, too ($6.00 USD), considering what resin bits seem to cost these days.

I think a lot of it comes down to this…

That's really a nice tribute build.

I thought that background looked familiar! Lajes was probably one of my favorite VP deployment sites.

This may be a god place to start:

More specifically, here:

You may need to do some research to find out what engine the Ki-100 had (Wikipedia?). Good luck and let us know what you decide on.

You may only be able to view this on a PC as it is an interactive panoramic view of the cockpit.
I'm using Chrome on my Mac and it works fine.

Maybe they're expecting to go the way Hasegawa did. Don't include any weapons in the kit, then later, release a few weapons sets that people will buy. That being said, I don't see why you couldn't use weapons from other kits, including the Hasegawa weapons sets. It probably saves GWH money, by not including weapons, cutting molds costs money…

Wow, that looks really nice, John. Way better than my poor old Fujimi kit.
