  1. Hi all, Here's my latest finished model, it's Tamiya's Tilly. It was fun build, the fit was nice and so are the details. Started it to take a rest from bigger projects. Here are few pictures. Cheers, Kristijan
  2. Thank you for nice comments. ;)/> Marek, thank you for your reference pics, whey'll be very helpful. I've made some progress, corrected the first hole, and the rear one will be pushed more inside , for a half a mm. Also, removed some panels that shouldn't be there ont he R version I've put some Quickboost air scoops on and glued the halfes together Also, put the Aires wheelbay in. Unlike the rest of the kit and sets, this wheelbay fit has a realy poor fit. But that just may be my fault. And finally, i'.ll schratchbuild the exhaust cover. That's all for now, stay tuned. Kristijan
  3. Ah, I understand now. :) Will be corrected as you suggested ;) If you find any photos, please share 'em.
  4. Hi Gabor, Thanx for the input, but I don't understand what you mean. Here's the actual bird's photos from the museum: Front hole Tail hole Although, I see now that i used too wide needles, I'll replace them B)
  5. Hi all, Here's my new project I've started recently. I'll be building the MiG-21R, here is the link to >>>AIRLINERS<<< I'll be using the Eduard MiG-21 in 1/48th scale with Eduard Brassin cockpit set and Brassin wheel set + some scratchbuild details and maybe a few other details which I'll show you in the topic. Brassin cockpit set is near finished. It's not finished yet, but enough to put it inside the fuselage, so I can continue with assembly. Cockpit si very good, although prepainted cockpit PE details is very hard to match. Here's the seat, minus the ejection handle. Also, I've painted the headrest wrong, since on the actual aircraft is painted black, so I'll do that later. Cockpit: I've also drilled holes and replaced them with needles. Also, few panels that aren't there on real aircraft were filled. All your suggestions and critques are wellcome. That's all for now, stay tuned. Kristijan
  6. Hi all, Thank you all for your kind words of support. I'll try to finish it up until next weekend (May 23rd) for a local modeling contest, and to finally put it off my workbench, since It has been a while since I've finished a model. Ha,ha... Just the other day I had a discussion with a friend of mine regarding the exhaust, and I have thought that this kind of exhaust I've put on is a right choice. My bad then. Thanks for your input. No problem on that, since I already do have an Aires exhaust set for the F-104S, and will use that one. But just wondering.... When did they start to use those (Phantom-like) kind of exhaust? I know that All F-104S have it, but what about the (T)F-104G? Did the F-104G had an modernization where it received this kind of engine? All countries or only Germans did? Anyone who knows is welcome with the inputs, so I know for my future projects, and not to mess that up again. Thanks in advance, Kristijan
  7. And few more... After decaling: Hope you like it... Regards, Kristijan
  8. Hi all, Finally, I've made some progress on my Starfighter build... The paintjob is finished, decals are on, now only I need to tint them down a little, and then onto final steps of the build. Here are some pics...
  9. Thank you all, your answers have been very helpful. Pics are great too, Thanks Well, knowing all these info, I'll choose to build HSL-42 bird. No need for these additions, and can be build on the deck(USS Hawes). I wanted to build the colorful one, but nevermind then... Maybe sometime in the future. That being said, I've solved these dilemmas, and now have new ones. :) 1) I am in the search of the helicopter deck of the USS Hawes. USS Hawes (FFG-53) is a OLIVER HAZARD PERRY class frigate, so pics of any of this class frigate is more than wellcome. I am interested in building the whole helipad, so any photo would be helpful... Or at least point me in the right direction where to look for those photos. 2) Tie dow sections. Is there any plan for placement of these tie downs, and what kind of tie downs are used? With 4 spikes? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Kristijan
  10. Hi, I have one Hasegawa 1/48 F-4EJ for sale or trade... It is the JASDF 50th anniversary boxing with Cartograf decals. Here is the boxart >>Click me<< I am asking US$60.00 plus shipping, or willing to trade for one of the following: Hasegawa 1/48 RF-4EJ 50th anniversary Hasegawa 1/48 T-4 50th anniversary Hasegawa 1/48 F-18A (any boxing) Hasegawa 1/48 F/A-18F Super Hornet "VFA-102 Diamondbacks CAG" or regular F/A-18F with 2bobs decals Revell/italeri 1/48 HC.1/Ch-47D Chinook KP 1/48 Su-22 M3/M4 Cobra company 1/48 Sh-60B or Sh-60F detail set Aires aftermarket goodies for jets,1/48 :) You can PM me, or send an >>email<< Best regards, Kristijan
  11. Hi all, I've started my SH-60B build, and have a few questions, which I haven't found answer to. The kit is Revell's SH-60B, with HSL-49 in Hi-wis tail markings on the boxart. That is the helicopter I am planing to build. Here are few questions, I am sure you'll know more than I managed to find on the Internet. 1) The boxart shows SH-60B without that "ball" on the nose, and it does not come in the box. The only photo I have managed to find of this particular bird shows it with that "ball"(what is it, and what is it for anyway?) and with longer port pylon. Did that SH-60 Had them all the time, or is it possible, that it was added later? If not, Is there anyone who is not using these parts from their Cobra Company update set and willing to sell/trade? 2) Where was the paritcular SH-60 stationed? Pic shows the SH-60 on the apron, but I would like to make it on the deck. Do anyone know if this particlar SH-60 was active and any info on that? Also, any picture of this bird would be very helpful, so please share. :) 3) What is the interior color on the interior? Cockpit is flat black, but what about the rear? On all pics it shows some kind of light blue... Any suggestions on the color? 4) What are the FOD and RBF locations? Any input would be more than welcome. Any help is really appreciated. Thanks in advance, Kristijan
  12. Beat this.... Cutting edge Sabre stencils,1/48. Usually goes for 15-20$. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...E:B:WNA:US:1123 :D
  13. Yup, I thought That I could give that one a go on the next build, but i have 2 SEA F-104s, and belgian one is in a wait for Daco's decals, so I won't be building it anytime soon. Would be challenging project, that's for sure. Thank you, once again, for the pic you emailed. The faded camo is made by Honza's advice, but somewhat modified. In short, after base color is applied, lighter tone of respective color is used for the random lightening the middle of each panel. Darker tone is used for postshading on the panels and such. Hope this helps. Tomorrow I'll add some more fading, and see how that will turn up. Hopefully I'll turn to decaling soon. Kristijan
  14. Great pics, thanks for sharing, tengu! Topside artwork is stunning, one of the JASDF finest! I agree that some tweaking would it improve it further, but very nice anyway. Sure would like some decals/masks.
  15. Thank you all for your kind words. I am really glad you like it. Next I'll try to put some more faded paint on(lighter one of each color) and to blend it in before decaling. Now I am messing with some detail painting(wheelbay covers, landing gear, wheels, etc...), I hope that I'll have something more to share soon. Spooky, I am using the Icarus Decals - "Hellenic Air Force Pt.2". That tiger camo is not the Belgium one, sorry. It is the Hellenic F-104 "Tiger", from the withdrawal ceremony in the '93. If you are still interested, let me know, I won't be doing that one(although I like showbirds, there are many more F-104s to be built before that one :)) Kristijan
