  1. Here's a litttle $80 garage kit by fantastic plastic. It's the Naboo Royal Starship that carried Queen Padme and company from Naboo to Tatooine where she first met Anakin. It was a breeze to put together and the price was right (remember garage kits of this size can be alot ALOT more expensive). It was my first real attempt with Alclad 2 Chrome. I had a tough time with the paint peeling off as I was trying to mask the windows. I also had a tough time with fingerprints (even with rubber gloves) on the black gloss enamel base. I'm not really pleased with it, but I'm sick of looking at it, so I'
  2. Thanks much... you've been a big help. I just assumed that the Tamiya polishing compound was the same thing.... whoops!
  3. Not sure about your advice on the rubbing compound. I used the Tamiya polishing compound and it rubbed off the gloss coat. And yes, I did have a primer coat on before the gloss coat. I'll do another gloss black coat, but I'm not polishing it. Also, What do you seal the Alclad with once you've added this layer? Can you use future or should you use Gloss Lacquer?
  4. Thanks! It is a garage kit by Fantastic Plastic. Simple little kit, but fun nonethelesss. It's been a nice break from the more detailed Studio Scale kits I've been working on.
  5. Thanks guys... appreciate the feedback! Everyone on SSM keeps pointing me to this Killer Chrome Can stuff. Apparently, its the closest thing to real chrome on the market. I was going to balk at it since it was a rattle can, but these guys swear by it. http://alsacorp.com/products/killercans/kc...me_prodinfo.htm
  6. what do you buff gloss enamel with?? didn't know you could buff gloss enamel paint.
  7. I'm doing this bird seen here and I need to know which Alclad would be better, brighter and shinier... Alclad Chrome or Polished Aluminum??: I've got the gloss black undercoat on right now: here it was primed before the gloss black coat
  8. Go to Dixieart.com Go to Airbrush accessories Get the Master Cleaning kit for $34 Do not pass go and do not collect $200 Do it now!
  9. i highly recommend the dremel stylus... it eliminates the need for the flexi-shaft attachment for the original dremel. Much easier to change the speeds too.
  10. I use accelerator ALL the time. Mostly for the reasons mentioned above.
  11. Matt, You'd get a better priceo on ebay or listing it over here: http://www.hobbyfanatics.com/index.php?act=idx
  12. This should work http://randycooper.blogspot.com/
  13. Perhaps I'll phrase it this way... do you know ANY place that sells 1/32nd scale Remove before Flight Tags? Normally I use Squadron.com, but I couldn't find an aftermarket provider there. I also checked Twobobs and couldn't find anything.
  14. Anyone know where the best place is to get 1/32nd Remove Before Flight Tags? Thanks in advance.
  15. Ok. So first of all... it is a very nice kit. This is not a beginner kit as Anubis was quick to point out. The amount of detail and the amount of resin does warrant the price. It's a very good deal, IMHO, for a garage kit. The resin is good quality. It's well thought out in its design... almost begging to be lit by LEDs. Thanks to Randy, this beauty will finally be added to my collection! The kit comes with a picture CD that should take you through the process fairly easily. Also includes a print out to help line up the 11 engines. Look at all the parts! Can of Coke their for size perspective
  16. I had a casualty on my 1/48th scale F-15 AMRAAM missiles. Does anyone have some extra that I can buy off you? Thanks in advance.
  17. I just finished a Academy F-15D, but I can't find any information about what markings would appear on the drop fuel tank. I bought an TwoBobs decal set "the Saddam Hunters" and it doesn't provide the information either, but there are plenty of extra decals (I assume some might be for the missiles/ missile racks and drop tanks... unfortunately it doesn't say what they are used for. Does anyone have any good reference for what kind of markings are on the drop tank and/or missile racks? Thanks much!
  18. he billed me $20 for shipping, if that helps.
  19. For as much resin as this thing will take... it's a bargain for the garage kit industry.
  20. Thought y'all might be interested in this: "The Consular's Ship"
  21. wow... that would save me ALOT of time. I'll be buying alot more from them if that's the case! Thanks again.
  22. Very pleased with the Twobobs decals I got for Gulf War F-15s. Just one quick question... (its my first aftermarket decals from twobobs)... do you need to cut the decals like most aftermarket decals or are they pre-cut like the OE stuff? And just for the record... I know you should always trim.
  23. Here is that 1/72nd Monster I was talking about. And for scale that is a full size can of spray paint!
  24. You're not exactly correct. There is a 1/100 scale HWR-00 Mk-II Monster that is from the original series. I did one here. The sculptor is Gundamhead and the kit was offered briefly by SMT. GH has the master back, but has not given it to a caster to cast. Alot of this has to do with the 1/72nd that is being made by a group over at Macrossworld.com. It is a huge monster. Here are pics of the 1/100 wcale that I did:
