  1. Glad to know about the weathering. These displays are found here: https://www.coastalkits.co.uk/newstore/ Thank you!
  2. Hello! This is my recent project, a nice kit of this iconic jet. It’s an old toll, and it shows it in some ways, but it also can be built into a nice model . Except fot the canopy masks, everything OOB. All my references showed these USAF birds, in the late eighties and early nineties were kept relatively clean, being the opposite of the Navy. So, the weathering was kept to a minimum. All decals were fine. Gunze paints and oils were used. Hope you enjoy. Cheers!
  3. Hi there, This is my recent project, a nice Airfix kit. Not my usual scale, but this bird in 1/48 just won’t fit my space here. Except Eduard Masks, a must for all these clear parts, everything else OOB. Fitting is nice in general, except for the clear parts that build into the tail gun structure being too narrow for the fuselage, which causes a step. Also, after glueing the fuselage halves, I ended up with a gap right in front of the windshield. Despite this, the clear part for the “canopy” structure fitted well with the gap. So, instead of forcing the halves to join, I just
  4. I used this guy, an excellent modeler, technique. Check it out. It works!! https://doogsmodels.com/2014/10/09/technique-multi-layer-chipping/
  5. All right! This bird always asks for a sun weathering effect, mainly over the fabric covered areas.
  6. Thank you! I think it really is the best in all scales, despite these issues.
  7. Hello! This is my recent project, an Airfix Avro Lancaster, 1/72. I usually build 1/48 aircraft, but this one would have a 60cm wingspan, too big for my space. Having built a few nice Airfix new tools, I have to say I was a little disappointed with this one. The fuselage halves and bomb bay doors were all warped. Not beyond repair, but it took quite some time to have them fit properly, even though not perfectly. I think that if I had tried to leave the bomb bay open, it would be a challenge. And almost all the clear parts came with some minor scratches. The canopy have you to g
  8. Hello! This is my first finished project this year, the very well known and praised Tamiya P-47 1/48 kit. Nothing to add, really, a superb kit. Only some small stencils did not behave well and…disintegrated. C’est la vie! Since these especific birds didn’t operate for too long, war ending in Europe was months away, I kept the weathering at a minimum, just some dirt from the airfields, but not too many scratches and chipping… Canopy masks from Eduard, guns from Model Masters and seat belts from scratch. Hope you enjoy! Cheers
