  1. thanks for the replies. i am planning on draining the glue into a glass bottle in order to be able to use the brush that is made into the top of said bottle. it is an older testors liquid cement bottle. the one that MEK came in. is this advisable? i have already cleaned the bottle and letting it air out right now. thanks

  4. sorry to take so long replying. here is the website that i got the set(s)from. Nautilus Models. just scroll down about halfway down the page and you will see the link for the accessories for the Lionfish . i picked the 1/144 PE set for the Trumpeter kit and the resin weapons set.i was disappointed at the resin weapons set as they were AWFUL. worse than the weapons that came with the kit itself. the PE set is pretty good but kinda fiddly. for the weapons i purchased the White Ensign 1/144 4" deck gun. i am waiting on restock for the 20mm AA weapons. 5. I use small dental brushes, the kind that are used to clean in and around teeth braces. you can pick these up at your local pharmacy.Pick up some of various sizes, clip off the handle and super glue a length of tubing, brass or aluminum, your choice.Voila you have a nice set of airbrush cleaning brushes. HTH
  6. i use a good grade of lacquer thinner, Crown brand, to thin Testors and Model Master enamel lines of paint and have good luck with it. I normally thin at a 1:1 ratio, also use the lac thinner to do all my cleaning of airbrushes. I to have a Paasche VL airbrush and use the #3 needle to do some of my painting, the one with three rings at the end of the needle. The other two needles, the #1 is used for thinner fluids, such as inks. The #5 needle is used for thicker fluids and paints. I use Tamiya paints occasionally and use their brand of thinner, X-20, which has a retarder built into it and goes
  7. any update on the punch and die sets? thanks
  8. Would someone post an image of the drafting pen? See if this pic works it is actually called a ruling pen. it was used when hand drafting was the norm. you dip it in an inkwell(Tenax bottle) and capillary attraction draws ink/liquid cement between the nibs. you use it as you would the Touch-N-Flow applicator. Pull it across the seam/part to be glued. don't push it across. HTH

  13. I am in the finishing stages of a Pro Modeller P-39 Airacobra that was used in the Pacific. I am going to use a dot filter on it for weathering. My question is, on the fuselage, which way do you apply the filter? Up and down, against the airflow, or with the airflow. any and all info on this would be greatly appreciated
