does anyone have the 1994 Finescale issue of Modelling the Second World War? i am looking for the article that explains how to paint checkerbord pattern on cowlings. if so, would they be so kind as to email me this article. yeah i know it would be much easier to purchase the decal(s) for this pattern....but i like to do it the hard way :) any and all info on this matter would be greatly appreciated ooppps forgot this gharlaneATcomcast.net you know what to do with the AT

do a 50/50 ratio for the Mr. Surfacer to Lacquer thinner, play with the air pressure and it should come out fine

i have found that, at least for me, Polly S Easy Lift Off :) works best. just brush it on, wait a bit , then wipe off. will not harm the plastic at all. just make sure you have plenty of paper towels handy. it can get a bit messy

does alclad paint,(specifically AlClad II Aluminum) go bad after a period of time? i began by shaking the bottle first, my usual method, to mix the pigment and carrier, loaded by airbrush, started spraying (@ 12 - 15 psi), and all that came out was the liquid, no pigment :lol: . so i went back to the bottle and noticed there was material laying on the bottom of the bottle. i took a stick and scraped the bottom of the bottle and shook it again, vigorously, loaded a/b and the same thing happened again :wacko: . after all this i cleaned the a/b and noticed there was material, i assume the alumi
