Boy it's being a while with life and then covid life and then post covid life. Now with this life of increasing inflation and dwindling income, I still enjoy the hobby except at a much, much smaller scale, no pun intended, to the point of not being able to build any kits other than pre-covid paused builds. Stalled due to time and hacking them up to make them more accurate. Well more accurate in shape than in the number of rivets. 😄 I hope everyone is doing well and I just wanted to update on myself and say 'Hi and I haven't completely abandoned the hobby. Well not yet.". 😄

Yes, well put. Some of these idiots are trying to profiteer from this and are the ones buying all the toilet paper, sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer. Thankfully some reseller sites are doing the right thing and blocking these these sellers for marking up prices by 500%. Not to make light of the situation but it reminds me of that Seinfeld episode.

I'm glad to see Tamyia producing some 1/48 scale modern tanks like the M1 Abrams and JSDF Type 10. But I'd also like to see them produce a 1/48 scale Leopard 2, British Challenger and other Cold War and recent modern tanks. Does anyone know if Tamyia has any new modern 1/48 scale tanks in the works? Tanks in advance.

I watched the 50's movie "The Giant Claw" and an unlikey star of the picture, to me, is the Avro CF-100. There was other stock footages of the Northrop F-89 Scorpion and North America F-86 Sabre but seeing stock footage of a CF-100 in a movie was something I didn't expect.

After seeing Shawn "phantom" Weiler's what-if Avro CF-105 Arrow Mk.2 on ARC's main page and with the recent search for the free flight models in Lake Ontario, I thought I'd pass on some other related news, albeit 3 - 4 months late. I'm very late to this party but Vac Wings 48 made a number of 1/48 scale vacuform aircraft in addition to their Vac Wings 72 1/72 scale line of aircraft.

Parts being snipped out of the sprue seems suspicious but if the sprues are still in the clear plastic bag with the factory sealing then that would be different story. Clear sprues missing from kits do happen. It seems Monogram's 1/48 F-101B is notorious for it because I too had the same problem but I bought mine as a factory sealed NOS (New Old Stock) from a shop that was closing when the owner decided to retire. At the time the Monogram name was longer and it was just Revell. Luckily, Revell reissued the 48 scale Voodoo and with 2 emails, 1 to CS and another to Operations as per CS reply e

I never got to see Mr Hockey play live other than in the HNIC 1980 All Star game and a few of the Hartford Whalers games that were on Saturday night aka Hockey night. I'm in the same position as BIG and have to agree about looking at both the price and shipping cost with online sellers, ie you'll can always find a kit for $1 with a shipping of $100 on ebay. I haven't bought from Squadron since the 90's but even then it was rare because something on sale with the shipping would sometimes be the same price as getting one from my LHS which I now rarely do because of personal finances or lack of it. After being given his 1985 Autobiography written by himself and Leo Janos, I read from front cover to back and was truly impressed by his accomplishment given his limited academic background. Thought I'd share this because it seems so fitting of the season. The background story is my small niece went to see the Disney on Ice Frozen show. 2 days later she fell while playing with this light up wand they sell at the show and broke it. I fixed it and while messing around with my camera and moviemaker, recorded a video on the process of repairing the wand and it's electronic parts. Lucky it was a simple solution. Years back Trumpeter stated a future release of a 1/32 scale Nanchang Q-5/A-5 Fantan but nothing happened. Will they revisit the idea but maybe in 1/48 and/or 1/72 like they did with the Shenyang J-8/F-8 II Finbacks. I'd like to see more indigenous legacy PLAAF aircraft.
