  1. They are re-releases of standard kits, with different markings. *Occasionally* (very rarely) they will also include resin parts for a specific airframe, but this is the exception, rather than the rule.

So to answer the question... if Hasegawa releases, say, a particular Tiger Meet-painted F-16 as an SP boxing, you'll see the plastic for that F-16 in their standard catalogue line-up (and will continue to see it for years to come), but you'll probably never see those specific markings in any other release.

Thank you. That's what I thought. I guess it's a way Hasegawa can get the most out of a mold.

  2. Are these special limited issues? Do they eventually come out later as a regular product? I'm asking because I see the other regular issues of the same kit but in different markings for and SP series - decals are probably the only difference. Thanks for you inputs and replies.

  3. On the other hand, why not get it and do some modeling? A lot of modeling...

    (The decals were Microsoft.)

I did the same thing with my old 1/72 Monogram F-14. Unfortunately, I gave mine away before I took any pics of it. I recall using bits from an Airfix one to make it resemble an early F-14A.

  4. I had that kit years ago and it is the model of the full scale wooden mockup of the F-14A. Yes, it's not the snaptite kit which I have never had and no idea as to how it's like. The kit shown on ebay does have the glove vanes. IMHO best to purchase the Academy one for a cheap, nice & quick build of a F-14A.
