  1. I repect our troops very much but I can't feel sorry because he decided to quit. As Bigasshammm put it, he's working the Hollywood gravy train where any publicity is good publicity. And with Zero Dark Thirty still fresh in people's mind, he'll make money or atleast some kind of income from the talks shows and book signing appearances. The troops I really feel for are those who answer the call and come back to find their employer filled their position with cheap labour. Those employers should feel ashamed for putting someone out of work like that, especially when that employee goes overseas t
  2. Thanks TT. Another aviation B movie I gotta see. Tell me does Ice T rap in this movie! I hope there's a cameo of Flavor Flav!
  3. Diego, Let me know the kit number HCXXXX and I'll scan it and email it to you.
  4. Yeah me too! Menino saying "Nemo" would be classic! Just don't do what Joe Sakic did when his snowblower jammed with snow and started clearing it out with his hands without shutting the darn thing off .
  5. No but the fool who wins is. On one of the rare occasions of watching "Auction Kings", this episode showed some phone bidder who won the auction of an Amt (Amt/Ertl) 1983 opened box bagged sealed 1/650 scale Star Trek USS Enterprise TOS kit. Condition of decals was hard to tell but the box looked good to very good. Well the final bid was $175 USD . If he goes to the hobby shop today he'll find one at around $30 or the "collector" tin one for about $60.
  6. Oooh! Oooh! I can't wait for Hobbycraft to make an inaccurate 1/32, 1/48 and 1/72 scale model of Bob Diemert's Defender that makes it look more not like a caricature kit like the CF-105 HC-1392 kit does for the Arrow. That anthem wouldn't happen to sound like "Coo loo coo coo, coo coo coo coo!". I really liked those old Italeri / Testors what if F-19 and Mig-37 stealth a/c kits. The Iranian fighter bomber seems to have a hint of F-19 in it when look at the front half but those wings look out of place on it. I wonder if they built those Testors models and put it thru a wind tunnel test :unsure
  7. That's strange how it's on the weather channel in the US. All I get is weather updates on the weather channel in Canada. Yes, it's suppose be a full hour with commercials and about 45 mins without using the dvr. It might just be on NatGeo Canada only. I see it in the on screen guide listing when I check to see what's on tv or what I need to record on dvr for future viewing.
  8. After I had posted earlier about Air Aces and many American ARCer's replied that the US History channel doesn't show it in the US, is Ice Pilots NWT also not aired on the US History channel?
  9. I'm also one who starts a kit puts it down and then starts another. It seems we may have scaled polystyrene form of ADS  . I seem to lose interest / focus and start something new which gets me all enthused about the hobby. I should definitely start focusing and get something finished before ripping the inner sealed bags of another kit.
  10. Count me in. But if it's Jar Jar Binks, mesa head gonna hurt. Disney will find a way of getting him into the Star Wars franchise with a Captain Jack Sparrow like character so they can resurrect the Pirates of the Caribbean merchanising again. Cha-ching!. During his 21 Jumpstreet days I remembered meeting his costar Dustin Nguyen twice. First time was at the place I was working where he brought in his car and the second was on a film shoot. Really nice down to earth person considering his fame at the time.
  11. Amazing that a character with only 30 seconds of screen time could get so popular plus he looks way cooler than Greedo and has a large scale vinyl figure kit of him. He was tough enough for George not to rework and alter his scene in 1997 . Yes he did and that's the way I like it in Episode IV. Good thing George did redo the Jabba scene because I never really figured out how Jabba morphed from some rather large dude into a large green larva thingy when I was a kid. Now that makes more sense on his lousy shot. I never read the books so I wasn't aware of the bounty hunting experience of
  12. Yeah I agree. Discovery and History channel have been going down hill fast with all those "History in the making" reality tv shows. With CGI bringing the production cost down, you'd think they'd be more enthusiastic about making historical shows so that the history in History channel will finally mean what the channel is all about. Another one that has been going down hill too is The Learning Channel "TLC" which should now be called "The Dumb Channel" because everything you learned through your life will be lost by watching one of their current reality tv show. It was another good and infor
  13. Oh no! 1.5 to 2 hours of Jar Jar Binks. Mesa head hurts. And just think people were upset about how George Lucas reworked Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope where Han Solo confronts Greedo. In 1977, Han shot first but in 1997 Greedo shot first and a lousy close range shot from a "bounty hunter". This is a shot Boba Fett would never have missed . I can see it now JJ Abrams will make alot of people extremely upset more than the Han Solo shot first stuff.
  14. History in the making?! I dread to see what would be in a history textbook in the year 2113. A chapter on how Chumlee saved Rick and Cory Harrison from investing in a Picaso fake that would have cause economic collapse for the World famous Gold and Silver pawn shop that would have lead to a global depression. Then another chapter on how heroine Danielle Colby Cushman leads Mike Wolf and Frank Fritz into a great battle with an old geezer hoarder to repatriate a vintage 1950's historical artifact of great importance to the American culture. Then there's the chapter on the great battle of trucker
  15. It's all a generic banner ad to have good looking models on it to lure one into the site. I too have noticed now these ads have women with more cleavage showing. It just like tv ads with the old adage "sex sells". I ignore the ads or use an ad blocker and for tv thank you to the creator of the pvr.
  16. Yeah the Bader episode was remarkable and that footage you mentioned was in that episode.
  17. Emil that's so classic! Those UK T-shirts wouldn't happen to be called Upholder. Strange name cuz they keep falling off my torso! To void the negative publicity in Canada, they renamed them Victoria .
  18. ALF, I too found them much more informative with small details of their lives given by first hand account by living friends and family members. I haven't paid too much attention to Bomb Girls for the reason that I thought it would be too much dramatization to capture a younger audience but will now give it a look. I wasn't sure if Air Aces is avaliable right now for the US viewers but seeing that producers are Shaw, a Canadian cable company, it might be the reason why it isn't. However, our US cousins should email requests for it to their History Channel. Hopefully, they'll get to see it soon
  19. Ditto on that! Plus some Korean War aces.
  20. Yeah CC. I've notice the CGI is more realistic in Air Aces. I can't wait to see the next two episodes. Hopefully they'll continue the series with other Aces from the Axis side and from WW1.
  21. Just wondering if any other ARCers have been watching the History Channel's Air Aces series. The latest episode was on Robin Olds and Operation Bolo. Before that it was George Beurling, Douglas Bader and the Red Tails Tuskegee Airmen. Has CGI that looks very similar to the Dogfight series. Finally nice to see stuff other than Ice Road Truckers, Pawn Stars, American Pickers and other so called reality tv series that put you to sleep.
  22. This sounds just like Peter Zuuring's dream of building an airworthy full scale CF-105 Arrow by selling t-shirts, prints and books. His replica Arrow was to be ready for it's first flight in 2008. Guess he was a good con man since I haven't seen it yet. He did produce some good books eventhough most of the pictures were grainy blowups from the National archives. Do they provide the thread and needle with those Swedish T-shirts? Also do they come with weird unpronouncable names too? In the past didn't Canada and Australia want to form an economic union similar to the EU and the Euro curre
