Turned out great in the end. I have had the same trouble with printscale decals folding and curling up on themselves. Think its because they are so thin? What do you reckon mate? -
Thanks gents. To get a uniform metallic sheen but still look weathered I tried a different approach to black basing as mixing darker or lighter shades of the havglass paint would have diluted the metallic by adding white or black etc. So this was primed in good old fashioned grey. Then pre shaded and highlighted with black and white. Then the haveglass hataka redline was mixed with mig ammo ‘transparator’ basically satin varnish to make the paint kinda see through. Built up in thin layers and thats it. the nozzle was painted in Tamiya Titanium silver acrylic and then had

Kabuki is the yellow tape and not flexible. The white tamiya tape can suffer from low adhesion if you overstretch it. Plus positioning a curve several times means you will lose more tack. But practice and adjust your techniques ie don’t flood or spray against the edge and you’ll be fine. Should always try and spray inwards over any tape rather than up to tape to avoid bleed.
