  1. New decals for Avro Lancaster B.I, 300 Sq RAF-Polish. TechMod
  2. I think WSJ W4964 was a "Ton Up Lancaster", a B.I Special so I will now search for a basic B.I with "normal" features. I am not modifying it in any way, shape or form. This is suppose to be an easy, basic, fun build, so be it. And I do understand the Revell kit's warts, wheels and dihedral, which will be addressed.
  3. Thanks for the info-where in Scotland are you, my 3rd great granny Martha Rogers came from North Leith Scotland, she married my 3rd great grandfather William McAdoo form I think Ireland? Oh well, just curious. My wife , former Deborah McCann, has grandparents from Dundee and Carnoustie back around 1911.

Apologies I have only just found this. Don't login v. often. I am on the East side of Scotland about 30miles N. of Dundee, so I know it & Carnoustie reasonably well & I certainly know where Leith is, it's a part of Scotland's capital city Edinburgh. Not somewhere I frequent very often being around 80/100 miles south of me.

      Best regards

  4. Thank you. I have some early images but they don't show the mid upper turret area but I see no bulged bomb bay doors and have so far read nothing about larger bombs being used in it, so far. I continue to search for information and if need be will buy after market decals for "Johnny Walker". Here is a weak beginning of the cockpit.
  5. I just read that those decals for Johnny Walker are combat decals , the white rudders were painted in late 1944? I guess it denotes that that plane has a special type of radio. So I will use them and save a few bucks not buying after market ones.
  6. Just showed up today. I am doing it as a B.I but the decals for WSJ Johhny Walker I think are for the Heritage Flight edition and not the WWII combat version. I will seek out the same version but in combat markings. My last build was Airfix's older mold Lancaster of "Admiral Prune".
  7. ABSOLUTELY!!!!! I totally forgot about that "covert anime" scheme used by JASDF.
  8. Had enough paint to do the hood, new can on the way.
  9. Click on windows icon far left bottom screen, next to looking glass search icon. A black area comes up, control panel is on the right side of that black area near the bottom with listings for A, B, C etc
  10. Funny pinkish tint to 3D decals, next time PE!!!!!!
  11. Wing span in inches-7.25"......Length in inches-10.9" Wing span in mm-184 mm....Length in mm-276 mm
  12. The cockpit is in, 15 grams of weight behind cockpit which is over the nose gear, top and bottom fuselage closed, HUD installed and canopy cemented closed. I started adding some PE to the fuselage.
  13. Toss up between 1/72 Avro Lancasters and 1/72 F-4 Phantom IIs. Lancasters may win out as a Revell 1/72 kit is on the way to me now.
  14. The orange color I am using, running low on orange so off to the hobby shop to resupply.
  15. After looking at all the masking I would have to do for the glass and bombs I decided I would spend more time masking than building other models. Rather than bog myself down I decided to get this finished ASAP so I closed up the bomb bay to speed things up. I have a much more interesting Lancaster on the way and need to clear my table for it in a week or so.
  16. I messed one of these up once and will try it again, totally my error. So far I have the cockpit done and 3D harness and belts added. The 3D is OK but has a strange pink tint to the color, or my eye is off. I would use PE next time, the 3D is nice but it doesn't fit very good , settles down with Micro Set though.
  17. Have fun-went to Lindberg Airport then Mission Bay way back when-1989? Remember driving over some bridge by ocean and saw a sub out a ways in bay with a small navy skip headed out to it....no idea what was up but it was cool---SD ZOO was cool too! Enjoy
  18. WOW! My uncle had one like that , was a Dodge though, blue and white! Love those 50s rocket fins! Excellent finish on that body.
  19. The light blue is done, I got some tape residue on the dark blue, how do I remove tape residue without harming the paint. Paint is Tamiya rattlecan lacquer TS series.
  20. Back at it, was absent cleaning up many winged projects. I have the interior done.

    It's called sarcasm, DUH!
  22. The tail, cockpit glass, nose turret, tail turret and tail skid are on. I am not sure what to do with the nose turret as there is a seam right in the middle where they broke the turret glass vertically in two halves. I can sand and polish the top easy enough but the sides are what bothers me. After that I can mask and paint.

Add some PE and I'm in!
  24. Kinda would be neat as 12.875....different at least.
  25. The wings are on, no gaps at all. They went on with absolutely no problems.
