Build night at a friends house. We used the Doohickus Mk. I to make the RADAR Warning Receivers that go under the front/side windows.
  2. Finished sanding, and put the antennas on. I assembled the weapons pylons. They all had a gap on the rear, but minimal putty and that problem went away.

The OzMods nacelles are hollow, so I ordered a set of exhausts from Blackdog. I plan on cutting it down to fit the OzMod nacelles. I am going to the Pima County Air Museum. They have a couple of A-models on display. I Want to get a few more photos as reference.
  4. Yes. SAC renamed an Instrument Approach into Offutt (?) LeMay. 1987ish.
  5. Titan II Missile Museum is south of the city.
  6. One of the tail seams is being difficult, adding more putty tonight, maybe 3rd time will be a charm. I can't put all the small pieces on until I finish getting the seams smoothed down. 😞

Finished hacking #1 and #4 nacelles. The OzMods nacelles are hollow, so I have to see if the kit exhaust turbines can fit inside the exhaust pipe. I also mounted the AM antennae base on the right side (upper part of the photo) and glued the front nose gear door in (with Italeri's "awesome" fit).
  8. @The Rat Your link worked for me.
  9. Thanks Dave, I was bummed that he closed before I could order, but I can wait for you guys to work all the details out.
  10. I haven't had any issues.

Not a lot done, I put the antennae bases on for the AM antennas, and painted the belly and nose. I also started the external tanks: I found a DB conversion set at a model show (tan tank) but it didn't look right, so I grabbed an OzMods set off of fleabay (gray set). I started cutting the stubs off and will build tanks/pylons as time permits (January is the one month I have to work). Finally, I started cutting the nacelles so I can replace the E-model nacelles with A-model nacelles.
  12. Bob Smith Industries has a de-bonder. It leaves a white film that needs to be wiped off.
  13. Little more work. I used CA to pull the engine mount rear fuselage together, and added the tails. The tails fit in good, with minimal putty. I'm sanding them down today. It's become tail heavy, (expected) and I have some liquid gravity coming in. There is an opening (for now) in the nose that I will put the liquid gravity in, and I will also add weight to the under fuselage ball sensor. . I'll also add all the antennas, and other external fuselage parts this week.
  14. Thanks, I want to build an E with 57FIS markings, and didn't know if flew TISEO equipped birds.

Slow progress, sanding the fuselage seems took longer than anticipated. Finally finished those seems, and I glued/puttied the horizontal stabilizers. Top seams are sanding down nicely, bottom curved seam is challenging.
  16. Started gluing the engine on. It doesn't sit flush with the fuselage so I glued the front part and will use CA to force the back end and fuselage together. The model is still a little nose heavy, I assume that will change when I add the tail and stabilizers, so weight will be added to the sensor ball.
  17. Almost finished with putty on the fuselage. I had to re-putty a couple of spots. The splitter vane is tilted a little, but I will probably leave it. Sand the last putty spots tomorrow, then add the engine assembly.
  18. Assembled the engine, not a great fit as there is a ridge along the top. Putty and sanding went quick. I need to smooth the intake out, and add a splitter vane to the intake. There is a cooling vent on top that I have to level out (any suggestions?)
  19. Very nice, My next 130 (if I ever finish the current build) will be a Zvezda. I assume the instruction sheet is clear on H or E parts?
