  1. It looks like all of your hard work eventually paid off Collin. Lovely looking Spit. Good job. Cheers.
  2. Here you go Steve. While I'm at it here are a couple more snaps. I managed to get the wing decalled today so I could start weathering. I'll leave it at this for now but I might do more when everything is assembled. On the wingtip slime lights I used some thin black decal to make the lines. This came from the seperation between two airframes on a 1/72nd scale Airfix kit. The wing tip light is shaped clear sprue painted clear Humbrol green lacquer. Back to the wheel bays next but I might just have a play with the vertical tails when I need a change of pace. Thanks f
  3. Sah-weet! Great contrast between the tan cammo and black scorpion. I agree with the other guys, killa work Marcel. I hope you're able to get a snap of your two Hornets together eventually. It will be a cool comparison. Cheers.
  4. If it ever gets finished..... Thanks Steve. Lovin' what you're doin' on your (even) big(ger) 'Cat To get the bypass vents fitted I need to finish the gear bays. I thought I'd finished at least one of the gear bays but in fact it's still only half done so that was a wake up call. Now I'm back to sticking teeny tiny bits of wire into the bays to replicate all of the full sized article's pipework. I must be bonkers though because looking ar reference photos and other people's models shows me that next to nothing will be visible.... It's eye watering stuff and hugely time consuming. In a
  5. Thanks guys. Glad you're enjoying the progress Steve, cheers. Hi Alexander, things are good thankyou. I hope that everything is good with you guys too. Hi Marcel, thanks man. It's been a while has n't it? Managed to get the bypass door actuators fitted. The wash looks stark in this image because of the flash. It's less pronounced in daylight. The wheelbays are calling again next. I shall have to re-visit the main gear bays before I can attach the intake trunking. More soon. Cheers.
  6. Hi Steve, thanks man. Glad you like it. I've just spotted your big(ger) 'Cat. That is some awesome work right there. I shall be tuning in to your build from now on. Hello my friend. Hope all is well with you and yours. Great to see you again after all this time. I can't promise that my motivation will last through to the end of the build but I'm going to try Alexander. I've been trying to get back to this one for some time but was put off by the geometry and complexity of these bypass vents when added to the scratch built gear bay extensions and those vents alongside the forward fuselage
  7. Hi Marcel, That paint finish is sublime. Loving looking Bug.
  8. Hi John, sounds like fun! :) Just so long as you give me a head start..... ;) Hi Andrew, hi Chuck, thanks for stopping by guys. It's good to have your support along the way. Not sure that I'll have anything new to offer but I'm glad of the company. I would n't have thought I'd be rusty as I have been modelling but wow, this was a challenge. I've almost forgotten how to add tiny details and I need to re-acquaint myself with my fine motor skills I think. Hopefully things will come back to me as we progress. I primed the boxes after adding some more detail with foil then began to tackle t
  9. A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away........ Hello folk. Apologies for dredging this topic up but I've made a re-start on this build and wondered if I should update this thread? Thank you chuso25. I'm glad that this project has given you some ideas. I'd like to see your build. Did you make a thread anywhere? Hi Jens, thanks for the gentle nudge. At last I've managed to get my a55 in gear and pick this project up again. Lol. Hi Steve, many thanks for the kind words. Apologies for the delay in responding but I'm back to it so see below for a small update. When we last saw this to
  10. Wow! Hi Wasserfall, such a treat to see your big Sukhoi finished and it was worth the wait. What an incredible result. Even now I would think that the first photo was a real aircraft. You nailed it. The view point, perspective, lighting and backdrop are perfection and contribute to an image that is indistinguishable from the real deal. Truly inspirational. Congratulations on turning out one of the best models I have ever seen. Bravo.
  11. Beautiful finish Marcel. This is another work of art. Great job. Cheers.
  12. Congratulations Chuck, it's been an epic journey. The little doohickey looks superb. Your scratch-buildign skills improve with every project. I'm agog now waiting for the RFI pics. Good job bro. Cheers.
  13. Superb Chuck. The circular swirls are a great touch and that's the first time I've seen anyone model them. Good stuff. Also, you have my utmost respect for your restraint on the panel lines. Details like that make a model in my eyes. I can't wait to see the final unveiling. Cheers.
  14. Hi Eric, I apologise for picking you up on this but I think more research may be needed. From what I understand you are correct in that matt and gloss coats were used but they were the same shade of air superiority blue. There should be no apparent difference in the colour on a model except for the fact one is glossy and one is matt. Due to the natural soiling of an aircraft there is very little difference to be seen in photos of the full sized birds. I do recognise that English is not your native tongue and in fact this is what you mean so apologies if I have my wires crossed. Again, I t
  15. *Sigh. Yep, you know best habu2. Thanks for putting us all straight. After all, it's not like this is just a hobby for fun and enjoyment or anything
  16. Like this. Scroll down further to see more images. Yes, but it looks good.
  17. I would urge caution before using irridescent acrylic mediums on clear parts. Test it first. My experience is that although the carrier medium dries clear, the irridescent particles do not which leaves a "candy apple metallic" appearance.
  18. Irridescent confetti is your friend. HTH
  19. Beautiful looking figures. Thank you for sharing them. I hope the new company will consider offering ground crewman in the future.
  20. A thing of beauty.
  21. Beautiful paintwork Marcel. Super smooth and the colours look great. You're a man after my own heart with your weathering style. Great job, keep it up. Cheers.
  22. Hi Chuck, Superb work on the ordnance so far. I don't think I can remember seeing a crisper, sharper AIM-9 anywhere. Combine the awesome skills of Alexander Rogal and Chris Wilson with the meticulous attention to detail of one of the world's top scale plastic modellers and bingo,......true modelling magic! The best I've seen. Great work, keep it up. Cheers,
  23. Hi Jesse, Long time, no see. How'd this build end up? Did you finish your big Eagle? Cheers.
  24. Hi Marv, Sorry I'm late to the party as usual. Very nice work on your model. The head piece that you chose reminds me of the ABC wrrior from Stallone's Judge Dredd. How big is this model compared to a dreadnought? Cheers.
  25. Beautiful Flanker Dieter. Great job on getting all of the little details correct. She looks splendid.
