  1. Don't know about if it flew in or not. But most like ly it was never operationally flown. The reason I say that is that no 77 models were updated with LASTE or any of the other mods that were applied to the newer jets. In our unit we did the same thing with our two 77 models, one we made BDR trainer and the other was a load crew/ICT trainer.
  2. I think the guys that repair the surface of these type of fastener on the Stealth acft are called "Martians" Some type of acronym for Material repair technicians.
  3. I always found the MiG-23 intriguing. My particular favorite is the MLD variant with all the C/L launchers on the top of the fuselage and the more ogival nose cone. Also one of the traits of the "lightweight Flogger" is the sit of the A/C as in the aircraft sits more level on its gear whereas the earlier versions have a more "tail low/nose high" attitude. I have read that the MK versions have longer MLG strut causing the tail to sit higher, but I have never had the opportunity to measure the two different versions. If either Clearprop or ICM gets that "stance" correct I'll buy one in both scal
  4. Ok Gang, I want to do "Miss Molly" from VF-111 using the existing Tamiya kit mainly because my shelf space is a little limited so I will do it with the wings swept. From what I understand the Tamiya kit is a block 95 or so with the pitot tube on the nose but doesn't have all the appropriate bumps and such. So what do I have to change/add etc. to get to a block 126? Thanks in advance
  5. It will probably be like when the USAF released a purposely distorted photo of the F-117 and Hasegawa came out with a kit that looked like the photo. The real A/C ... not so much! šŸ™‚
  6. From the unit I retired from, celebrating its centennial. MD ANG 175th WG 104th FS
  7. Well,,,,if you count the fake canopy its three tone!!!!.....šŸ’
  8. IMHO The ZM LG attachments both main and nose are the best engineered out there in 48th F-4's Very positive mounting. I have yet to see the Tamiya kit though.
  9. Pardon my Eagle ignorance but isn't the E model and later marks have thicker wheels and brakes than the C/D 's? That's why they have the bulged MLG doors on the newer two holers.
  10. The Instrument panels are different as well
  11. I do a section of the model at a time. I actually do it upstairs on the kitchen table so I can have the TV on for some background noise. When I get a little tired/frustrated I get up and leave the table for a while. It will take me several sessions but I think a full set of stencils does make the model "pop" a bit. Just use Qtips and tissue paper and make sure the decals is fully down on the surface use a good solvent to insure that they fit over the details. Keep a eye out if you accidentally dislodge a decal that you put it back in position.
  12. I go there whenever I visit my Aunt and Uncle. Awesome shop!
  13. If possible could you make this into a downloadable file, it would eb great to have on hand as a reference. I am sure I am going to build more than one Flanker!
  14. We started adding little "legs to our travel pods in the mid 90's I would say maybe a little earlier. It was about the same time we added handles to them. I think a TCTO came out authorizing units to add them to the pods. We used to store them on racks that had 6 " wide rubberized canvas straps between the racks. We finally made a towable rack that had sets of two hooks on it and you could hang8 pods on a rack. Made it a lot easier to transport and load them on the jets.
  15. Does anyone have a spare part # C-25 from a Zokei Mura F-4 kit? Its the parachute pack. Please message me if you have one, I lost one of mine, Thanks

  17. I maybe having a "Senior moment" but where is the cannon on this kit?? I don't see it in the instructions. I doubt it they left it out of the kit.
  18. Thank you Gene!! I think this is true of any windshield that uses that thick Glass in the center section.
  19. I wrote in another thread that asking roughly the same question I hope it helps. For reference I am a retired A-10 crew chief I would say in the Mid 2000's, I was asking our egress shop about that mod and if it was going to happen on our jets. They said they doubted it would happen to the A-10 seats. I was still a crew chief then and I went up to MOCC in 2008 and retired in 2011 so 2005-2006. But It wasn't a TCTO for the jet it was a TCTO for the seat. Hope that helps

  21. They are above the MLG struts. There was a mod to F-4's that made the MLG Trunnion mounts bigger which necessitated a bulge in the wing skin above the MLG mount.
