  1. Jake, I hate to disagree with you buddy, but thats not right. Mass and Ct ANG were the 1st to integrate the l2 pod on the A-10 at a squadron level. They started in late 02 and were ready to deploy to there base X when the tasking came down. Other A-10 units started to get them shortly after the 1st portion of the war. However it did not take long for the Hog fleet to be equipped so follow on hog units to OIF and OEF were equipped with the L2 pod.
  2. A dual "smart-rack" that is SDB compatible is being looked at. Actually i looked at it on one of our jets!! The SDB has not been cleared on the hog,,,,,yet!
  3. Be aware that the BB 1/48th A-10 Cockpit was done before the 32 cockpit and is a pre laste pit. If you cut the vents off the side that should do. But to be right, wait until Jakes book comes out I KNOW that will be a great reference!!!
  4. I can't beleive that Eglin let that Jet Get transferred!!
  5. You must be gassing our squadron!! Give em 'ell (wish I was there, but I got put on a profile)
  6. Ok The differences from a modellers standpoint are not many, The instrument panel is the big thing and the stick. Another thing is the glareshield side pieces have been removed and you can see that from the side. Use the F-16 side stick. Use the regular A-10 throttle, the differances are very small from a modeller's stand point. As far as PGM's are concerned and other things under wings. The C model can use the Litening pod or the sniper pod (chances are slim for seeing a sniper pod on an operational hog) and the pod can go on either sta 2 or 10. The pylon access doors on stations 2&
  7. Gloss white, which will turn into a more satin white with flying. the aft cowl will be painted dk grey on the inside and on some the outside camo grey will "wrap inside" about 18 inches or so, and it isn't a neat demarcation line. its best to try to find pics of the particular jet that you are doing. HTH
  8. I have to double check the T.O. but it should be stations 3,4,5 & 7,8,9 are the ones for GPS munitions. Yes thats the same kit that would go on a live weapon. HTH Craig

  10. Thought you might like these! P.S. If anyone makes a resin one, I get a few for free!! Note there are only three movable fins, the one @ 10 o'clock is fixed.
  11. Hey Ken, How long before these guys move to Barnes?
  12. I got a bounce back also but I used their "contact us" link on there website and was able to send a message.
  13. The F-100's were at one time QF-100's as if you look under the blue paint you can see some orange paint peeking thru. I heard they were used out at White sands missile range. The other one is up on our side on the field on the old inactive runway. next to 77-0221 & 77-0196 one of which will be out A-10 gate guard.

  17. Looking for pics that show the details of the 600 gal tank and pylon of the Mitsubishi F-2 for my hasegawa kit. (which is a very nice kit BTW) Thanks in advance!!
  18. Absolutley not!! System is the same as it was in the A model
  19. Well, for the crew chiefs there ain't much difference. But for the weapons and avionics folks, its a whole new ball game!! we have had a head start but we are still on the up side of the learning curve. But Boy oh boy does it make our pilots job a lot easier and makes them much more lethal!!!!!!
  20. Link to AF.mil article Also they used my jet for the ceremony last week. So they are "officially "C" models now!
  21. Absolutley nothing!!!! You have my respect!!! I have been lucky to crew hogs since I started in 1980. So I am not a youngin!!!! I have seen where the battery is and I am glad I don't have to change it!!! Although I did learn RF-4's at tech school
  22. Ya know, on the wing tanks the pylons are integral to the tanks on the real jet. But I would like the outboard pylons with the adapters for weapons. Actually I am really psyched about this!! even thoug I am a Hog Crew Chief the Phantom is my love (glad I didn't have to crew them tho!!) Like other have said you really can't use the common sprue for all the different wings, buy seeing what they have done with the Fw-190 series I am hoping this won't be a problem. I can't really add much to what others have said but I wish them a long and varied series of releases!!!
  23. Yep, I stand corrected it looks like the "S" models had them.
