  1. Yeah they have a least 2 there is one inside that is painted in its original Guards color scheme (before moldavia repainted it) and this one was down by the trim pad for quite awhile. HTH
  2. Wel there aint that many designator pods to go around for every jet. If you have one jet with a designator pod and they can buddy lase for other jets. Also I am not sure in this I don't know if the Sniper/L2 pod and recieve laser energy and display it like the PP pod, this is helpful when they're ground FAC's or or ground assets that can lase the tgt for you. HTH
  3. It looks like an ABDR (Aircraft Battle Damage Repar) training airframe.
  4. If you get Shawn Hull's update set it will have the DTC unit in the set. In other words if it has an EGI antenna it should have a DTC unit.
  5. I think it will vary by squadron. The traditional order was Yellow for the first squadron in the wing, Red for the next, Blue followed by green. When we used colored fin flashes on our jets before we went to our current MD flag flash, we used the same shades of yellow, orange and blue that was on our squadron patch. we did not just use insignia yellow, red, etc.. I hope this might help.
  6. Shouldn't start on May 27th? Thats the day of the first flight.
  7. Thanks Scott, Jake!! Looking to do something a little differen for my Tamiya Viper.
  8. OK I really don't want into specifics as that kinda goes into OPSEC, but as Spooky said usually the end caps on flares are red, but I have seen orange and some other colors. Also chaff is usually an off white color. As far as how its loaded in the A/C it is usually threat specific. But we trained putting flare in the statioons behind the gear pod and the chaff cans out on the wingtips. HTH
  9. I Know with the CCIP program F-16CJ's can carry both the L2 pod and the Sniper pod. But do operational units not test, use the L2 pod? I have always seen them with Snipers. Thanks in advance!
  10. Ya gotta remember there is a guy on the ground, usually anothe rpilot that is in radio contact with the pilot and does a recon so to speak of the area.
  11. Your wish is my command!! It is 28 9/16th inches from the fwd tip of the fan blades to the edge of the intake. HTH
  12. Mike could you PM me your requirements, Thanks!

    A-10

It kinda depends,,,, When we first got them, and some units still have the original sage green seat cushions and backrests. About 7 or so years ago we started geting a black furry cushion and backrest. the two little strips on the headrest are a slighly padded "vinyl" material and have turned darker throughout the years, they may have been lighter in the beginning but I would go with dk gull grey or something just to show the difference. HTH
  14. Its being BRAC'd to us. A bunch of more jets but no new people to work them!!!
  15. Well, there are the AIM-9X's in the 72 hase. Superbug. The AGM-65G/K are externally identical to there earlier cousins (more or less). The SDB is only on the Strike Eagle for now. But I agree with you whole heartlily on the rest!! But I have been waiting for Hasegawa to do a new 48th scale AAM set with decent AIM-120A/B's and C/D's and more than 4 -9L/M's
  16. Yes there Black, but the l/h side of the railing i.e. where we climb in the cockpit is pretty much worn to bare metal with a hint of ZC at the worn edges. If we were'nt so darn busy at work right now I would get you a shot.
  17. Jake summed it up! 36231 Dk gull grey. All our jets still have the original paint in the cockpit so its a bit dirtier than a factory fresh jet. BTW I have never seen a A-10 cockpit that has been repainted, thats not say that they don't but all the jets I have sen its the same paint that they sprayed on in the late 70's!!
  18. I really don't know the specifics, since I am in the hangar wth my jet going through phase. But around 1430 or so I heard on the radio from our EOR crew that a Civvie A/C lost its gear. went and looked outside and sure enough there was a twin engined (I don't know what type) A/c sitting on the runway with what appeared to be 2 of 3 gear collapsed. Of course this was right during our launch. and they had to cancel!! in about an hour they used a big *** forklift to get it up and I think they were able to get the gear down and locked and they cleared the RWY and we started up and went flying!!
  19. WOW What a photo!! Great shot!!!!
  20. Scott: Thank you my brother! Jake: Its been a long day after a long Drill!!!!
  21. I understand there is a bracket or something holding a sensor for the JHMCS on CCIP'd vipers. Is this the Doodad in this picture? Click for Pic Thanks in advance!
  22. Although I feel this is the most needed upgrade, Funding has been cut! :)
  23. Jake the IIR Mav's are AGM-65D's for anti-armor and AGM-65G for structures. The EO's are AGM-65A which were quickly replaced by "B" models and the latest and greatest EO is the AGM-65K Which has a better "camera" for a clearer pic. John, leave the pylons on. We took the pylons off for a while in the 80's but they were to be put on if we went to an war zone. We have fown with all 11 pylons for quite awhile now. HTH
  24. Hog-up is still active, but it is really an interim measure until they build new wings. I have never heard of PUP?????
  25. That sounds about perfect!! If you can make one mav an IIR version and one a EO guided version then you have a very typical hog loadout!
