  1. The "typical" load we carried in Kuwait the two times I was there was 1: AN/ALQ-131 ECM pod 2: LAU-131 w/7RX (W/P or H/E) 3: LAU-117 AGM-65D or G 4: Mk-82 5,6,7 : Empty 8: Mk-82 9: LAU-117 AGM-65D or G 10: LAU-131 w/7RX (W/P or H/E) 11: DRA W/2 AIM-9L/M This was also quite typical in Afghanistan in 03 but without the -9's Now put a L2 pod on Station 9 and either 1 or 2 GBU-12's on 4 + 8 HTH Craig
  2. All the ones I worked in Euro one were the Dark Gray, so there are variances I have NEVER seen one with anything but a camoflague color.

    A-10

I remember back aways giving a walkaround tour to a visiting TuAF delegation. It was interesing because the USAF officer from FMS was like a used car salesman!! The TuAF officer if sidewinders were availible and he answered "You can get them equipped how ever you like them"
  4. Also at that time, NO AIM-9's They came online a few years later.

  6. Really nice casting there but they're 28 fan blades on a TF-34 regarless if its mounted on a S-3 or a A-10. That resin casting by my count has 29 blades ( I know kinda rivet countin!! ) but It looks a heck of a lot better than what comes with the kit. On the whole I am not impressed from what I have seen on the net regarding this kit. The vertical tail is kinda weird the rudders are off. The monogram rudders are perfect. All in all I am sticking with the Monogram kit (although I would rob some of the parts from the Italeri kit)
  7. Dave I agree with you 100% they are no big deal but this is Tamiya and not Trumpter and I do hold them to a higher standard. Like you said, it's no big deal and definetly not the end of the world :-) and it's not like the Fujimi viper thats got a wasp waist. You said you looked at the hi-res sprue shots and didn't see them. I trust your eyes and you know what to look for. I know that this will be a pretty easy fix, but for $40 we should't have to. I don't know maybe I am a bit cranky after spending all afternoon recovering jets in the cold rain, when every one else had left early for the
  8. I don't know about the rest of you but I am getting really upset if they screwed the pooch on the tail, regarding the scoop and the refueling spotlight. I mean they nailed it on the 32 kit but where is it now?? I realize that this is a test shot but the sprues don't bode well for us!! I am sorry if this is one of those typical pre-release rants but I am mad!! I hope they fix it!! I can't really believe they did this!
  9. We in the A-10 community call them "decelerons" HTH
  10. I tell you one thing,, I am glad they took that piece of crap off the plane!!!!!
  11. Here is a pic I took of a CATM-9l/m(the guidance section is the same on live and CATM's Note theres a bit of a greenis/olive tint to the missile section and the fins are more straight dark mettalic color
  12. Here is HLJ's blurb on the new Viper. Should answer whether its new-tool or not! HLJ"S Viper annoncement Note: AIM-9 X's!! Even though I don't think there operational on Vipers yet (I could be wrong) Also I think Lucky Model snagged the Box art. For those intersted Clicky!!
  13. Well I withold my final word until I see the kit in my hands, but,,,, Whats up with the chaff/flare dispensers on the gear pods???? Also I don't see the radar altimiter antennae for the LASTE TCTO. I see what looks like the EGI "zit" . The DRA looks pretty bad but I can only see so much in a two dimensonal photo, that adapter has some subltle shapes and curves. But It looks workable. It ain't no Tamigawa buts it a new Hog!!!! BTW I saw the shots of the "hobby boss" A-10 and it looks like it has the same problem of the Trumpeter 32 windshield, it being 1/3rd too wide.
  14. Maybe in a Shelter, but not in a regular Hangar, but hey it's not my call!
  15. Is there a fleet wide problems with F-15 L/G struts??? almost every -15 I have seen at AMARC is sitting on trestles with the gear removed. Just wondering!!!!
  16. yep, as long as the get the Instrument panel right and the coaming under the windscreen you will be good to go,,unless the panel line nazi's get ya!!
  17. Yep benn doin it for 26+ years! Great jet to work on.
  18. Well right now the JDAM and WCMD are in active testing, I really don't know about the SDB but I know it is in the "works" there are some other things coming down the pike but I can't say right now.
  19. It's in one of the sub menus in the MFCD'S!!!!
  20. The 175th WG will be the 1st unit in the "total force" to be operational in the A-10C, Actually Battle Creek MI is right along side of us but we will be 1st as far as the AF is concerned. Externally the easiest way to tell the difference is if it has a targeting pod on it. If it has a pod it will be either on station 10 or 2, whereas the "A" model could only have a pod on station 9, now we can have can our other Maverick station back! The only difference I have found is.... a longer access door on station 2 and 10, hers a pic Hope this helps!
  21. Here is a shot of one oour A-10C's (well that not offically's "C's" until OU&E are done) Thought I might post it. Hope ya like. Note the new stick grip! Craig
  22. Could someone please help me out scan the instructions of the Black Box F-18F cockpit set? Thanks in advance! Craig
