I have almost completed my 1/48 spit mk II but will be unable to complete (much less start :( )the 1/24 MK II had planed on building. I will try to get some pictures of the MK II to Doc as soon as possible. I also want to say that the work everyone else is doing looks just great, makes me with i didn't have other obligations to worry about . Matt

this table was posted on an old thread awhile ago, I dont recall the thread or who posted it, but I saved it at that time. there was some debate on o scale being 1/43 or 1/48 supossedly the U.S. standard for o scale is 1/48 while in europe its 1/45 or 1/43. any way you cut it its the best your going to find, as far as s scale goes I have never seen it refreed to anything other than 1/64 scale. unless I am wrong (and I may be) stay away from s scale Scale Comparison Table Ratio/Model Figure Size/Model Railroad Gauge 1:285 / 6mm 1:220 / 8mm / Z 1:180 / 10mm 1:160 / 11mm / N 1:120 /

try O scale figures, slightly out of scale but as close as you will get, I belive O is 1/43 scale.

can any one point me to a 1/48 scale topedo that would go with a tbf- avenger?
-
looks great, not bad for an airfix kit :D

looks great, how does it compare to the 1/48 b-17 or c-47 kits from revell/monogram in size and oob detail?

thanks for all the information everyone.. the photos shown look like great kits and all well done. As I primaraly build in 1/48 scale I think I am going to have to get that acadamy f-5.

the paint was done by making a mask from heavy paper. when the mask got bad I made another. I think I made 3 seperate masks for this plane by the time I was done.

thanks, the kit is the old nichimo kit in 1/48. I recomend this kit to anyone who likes a well detailed kit, I would rate this almost as high as an Accurate minitures kit. although I doubt the deatil is 100%accurate (the pilots seat looks more like a car bucket seat) there is a lot to work with. the engine alone is a kit unto itself, I almost wish I had used the solid engine that came with the kit for the motorized version and built the engine up to display next to the plane.

this has got to be some of my best work to date. comments welcome and apreciated. I want to thank everyone who helped awnser questions I had. I also want to thank breadboard for sending me decals to complete the job (I would never have fineshed this without them)

How do you all transfer the paint from the jar to.

I use glass eye droppers, I got mine in a 2 pack at walmart for $1.00. I just flush them with thinner, if they get too dirty I take off the rubber bulb and clean them with a q-tip and a pipe cleaner for the tip. they last a long time and they are cheap.
