  1. Don't they charge by the liter (litre)? At 4400-ish liters that could be a spendy top off!
  2. Here's a few: http://www.f-16.net/...e-profile/2861/ Also try a Google image search for "F-16 #89-2013".
  3. It was a flutter issue at higher speeds with the AIM-9s on the wingtips. Some drivers compared the induced vibration to driving a car over highway rumble strips really fast, except it never quit til you slowed down. The added weight and different airflow properties of the Slammer on the wingtip helped to mitigate the flutter.
  4. Probably screamin' their fool craniums off like little school girls with a grin so wide the O2 mask can barely contain it!
  5. Yep. In fact the majority, if not all of, Duluth's jets came from Spang.
  6. Well the peeling around the gun port I can understand. But the pylon? Hmm...Weird. But even so, it still looks a damn sight better than the initial applications on the Spang jets a couple years back. They looked positively filthy. It actually looks more like the original paint scheme now. But I still prefer the new darker colors that have been seen recently. B) They even go so far as to coat the set screws for the static dissipators. Fascinating.
  7. Anybody know if the these A-4s came with the APG-66 or was it a retrofit by Draken?
  8. You probably know this, but for those that don't (yes...they exist ;) ), the aircraft pictured is a probably the converted fire-bomber (serial 44-83546, registered N3703G) reconfigured to play the Belle in the 1990 movie. I think it even sports the original reg. numbers. The no-kidding Belle is undergoing restoration at the AF Museum in Dayton. Still.....even if she didn't see WWII service, it gives one goose bumps to see a piece of that era still flying. http://www.warbirdre...17-4483546.html
  9. The twin miniguns in the chin turret are a nice touch. Did the Army ever field twin minis? Seems like there was a Cobra model with one but not two. And I just had to add 'cause that's prolly the best emo I've ever seen!
  10. SOF better tell 291 to either close the boards or come outta burner, either one. :P
  11. When I was a kid 'round about 1973 we visited my brother stationed at Kinchloe AFB in Michigan. He gave us a tour of one of the MX hangars and he got me and parents on board one of the BUFFs in the shop. Got to sit in the commander's seat. I was hooked on military airplanes that same day.
  12. What's the story with the partially disassembled Eagle?
  13. Just wondering if comparing a Pax airframe to a Freighter would explain the slight difference?
  14. A "Fleagle"? :D (I call dibs on coinage!!!)
  15. Now that's a big HUD glass! ;)
