  1. Jim, thanks for the reply ! My local dealerS had told me that these kits were OOP for a while, and only available on Ebay for ridiculous priecs. A search on internet shops in Europe did not result in anything. As you told they were still in production, I expanded my search, and found them on Hobbylink Japan (not all of them, but at least those I "need"). Moreover, they were at a quarter of the price of what I used to pay 10 years ago here in Europe !!! So I ordered 4 right away ! Unfortunately, the Italeri kits are still out of reach, but I continue my search. Could you tell me what t
  2. Gents, When I left aviation modelling about 10 years ago, I had just picked up a 1/72 Fujimi A-4E/F kit and the Superscale decals sheet for F-5 & A-4 aggressors. My first impression after all these years is that jet aviation is not enjoying the current boom, as seen in 1/72 armor modelling, and I am unable to find any decent A-4 or F-5 kits in 1/72 to complete my project (i.e. building all aircraft on the sheet  ) Can anybody help me with advise on which current, available kit to buy ??? Many thanks in advance, Rob (Belgium)
  3. Just that, they're cheap over here :D TIA Rob (who's still eagerly trying to catch up)
  4. I think I have the Superscale set you are referring about, it indeed has decals for some Allison Mustangs, but not for the A-36 :P On the other hand, I came across a German website recently (forgot which one unfortunately) where a A-36 was anounced for Acedemy in 2005. One can only hope... Rob
  5. Mr "Agboak" (haven't got a clue what your real name is ) The PE set turned up when I cleaned up my old stock of IPMS stuff from ten years ago. Lucky coincidence, I guess. I apparently didn't pay too much attention to it when I received it somechere at the beginning of the '90s Like stated previously, I've been out of aviation modelling for baout 10 years, and am hoping to catch up with the new state of the art as quickly as possible, after a long spell on the "dark side". Perhaps IPMS/USA still has some for sale... ? The Czech master kit is definitely worth it's money. Seperate flaps, n
  6. J.C., thanks for solving that mistery ! :) Fortunately I found just a litlle bit of aftermarket for the A-36 in the form of a small PE set distributed by IPMS/USA many years ago. It includes the dive brakes for instance. Regarding the aftermarket, can anyone propse aftermarket parts for the Merlin Mustangs in 1/72 (I'm trying to catch up quickly after absence). TIA Rob
  7. Gentlemen, my happy return to aviation modelling saw me inheriting this kit. It was partially under construction, but seemed quite OK to me, given all the issues with the current Mustang kits (thanks to those who answered my questions on availability and accuracy). Furthermore, I am not aware of the existence of any kits of the A-36, except the Condor kit (can anyone comment on its accuracy ?) Now, the kit was wrapped in simple plastic, without manual or label and was partially built. Can anyone give me an idea which kit it is ? As a follow on: having been away for a long time, can anyo
  8. Thanks guys, even if I am too late for winter solstice, at least I know now what to ask for New Year ! ;-) Take Care Rob
  9. Murph, Chick, Dave, Hal, thanks a lot ! The world has definitely changed while I was "away". I would never have expected Hase to come out so bad, and Academy so good. Unfortunately I had already picked up the Italeri P-51A, and a quick check revealed that it was disappointing. Anyone any comments on that one, or how bad it REALLY is ??? Btw, has academy anounced any other Allison Mustangs ? Merry X-mas Rob
  10. Gentlemen, after suppressing aviation modelling for a dozen years or so, and effectively turning to (what here appears to be called) the dark side, i.e. AFV modelling, I am quietly trying a flying subject once again. Unfortunately, I haven't spent enough time on ARC to "feel the mood" and thus not knowing if, as someone that hasn't contributed to this forum (yet), it is allowed to bother you and ask questions. I know that on the "dark side", some forums frown upon the lesser mortals bugging the masters. Which, of course I respect and understand. So my question is simple: what would be the b
