  1. Hi Daniel, PM sent. Cheers, Andrew S.
  2. Hi Daryl, Sorry if this seems to be rushing you, just curious actually. How are the Sniper (Pantera) pods going, and how about the F-16 spines? I'm still very much interested! Thanks for any update you might have. Cheers, Andrew.
  3. Hi gentlemen, I like your collective thinking. It would be great to see Revell (in particular) produce the Mirage in its multitude of forms in 1/72 scale. Concur regarding the Rafale, and the Lightning, although letting my imagination run away with me is seldom worthwhile. Thanks also to those with info about the AML kit (regards Mofo for sharing your experience of building it). I can't offer any suggestions concerning the High Planes kits; I only collect them to make me appear to be an experienced modeller (I need to find a less expensive outlet for my toadying). If I ever commit glue to pl
  4. Hi Jake, Many thanks for posting these and your previous efforts, in particular those featuring F-16s. Apologies for not thanking you before, but I really enjoy seeing your work (irrespective of the weather). Regards, Andrew Steinbeck
  5. Hi Diego, This is great news for another fan of Photo Phantoms, especially the Spanish and Iranian aircraft. I'm looking forward to hearing of their release. You mention that I can obtain sheets directly from you; how can I do this - via Paypal? Anyway, I'm definitely keen to get hold of the RF-4 and reprinted F-14 sheets; just waiting for the word! For Mofo: do you have any photos of your Phantom to share, and is this the one started for a group build a little while back? If so, I recall being really impressed by the work you'd put into the cockpit (I may have even saved the pictures you po
  6. Hi Eric, great work, and I'm pleased to see that you've nearly finished your project (first instalment, anyway). I've enjoyed catching up with your progress after two weeks away. Looking forward to seeing the finished fleet! Cheers, Andrew.
  7. Hi Eric, Glad to see that you're making progress; looks good from my upside-down perspective (poor Australian joke). Hope everything comes good for your Norwegian jet, as I'm a huge fan of their overall single-colour scheme. Please keep the updates coming when you are able. Thanks are due to Jens for the info concerning Danish jets, which has resulted in a complete re-evaluation of what I thought I knew about your F-16s (ask Motty about my misuse of his reference collection). Cheers for now, Andrew.
  8. Hi Daryl, Your efforts look really nice, from the intake pylon with adaptor to the two-part pod itself. I'm also interested in some in 1/72, so I'm watching your thread with interest. Did you get an email I sent you a fortnight or so ago concerning Spangdahlem D 86-572? I was slow in getting back to you, and just wondering if you were still interested. Cheers, Andrew.
  9. Hi all, I'm glad to see that you're making such impressive progress, Eric. Keep up the great work; I hope the repetition involved in your project doesn't put you off. I'm certainly looking forward to seeing more pics this weekend. It's a good idea to choose similar-schemed aircraft for a batch; plus it's kind of logical to start with the European Air Forces - considering they kicked off the international thing. To Tiger27, many thanks for your input and explanation of the Norwegian aircraft and upgrades. I've stored away the information like Jens' earlier posts, as I find it helps me keep tr
  10. Hi guys, Geez Jens, at this rate I might actually learn something! To hopefully demonstrate application of knowledge, here's a picture of a Norwegian Block 10 with Pantera (Sniper XR?) pod and new PIDS+ pylon, both of which they can carry because they were updated (as opposed to Danish Block 10 aircraft). Am I right? I didn't realise that the MLU was so involved. Anyway, I'm much obliged for the generosity of all. I hope things are going well with your build Eric. Cheers for now, Andrew.
  11. Hi again to all, For Martin and Jens; I'm very grateful for your pics - they do indeed convey so much information. Now to put that info to use.... I'm sure I've got Vivacious Vipers 1 stored away for such a project! A quick question if I may about the EWMS pylon; is it true to say that the inboard side is symmetrical to the outer face (does that make sense?.. )? Sorry to bang on about this, but I did say it was educational.... For Jens; do you have photos of Uzbek-deployed F-16s on your site, or do you know where I might find them? For Eric; I apologise profusely for what must seem like hij
  12. Hi Jens, many thanks for the pics; I can now see that E-195 (for example) was carrying one of these pylons (to port I think) and one of the PIDS pylons. Mmmm..... configurationy...... I have one or two shots of Danish Vipers over Afghanistan, but they are from USAF.mil and don't really show that much (other than what one sees when refuelling), so I'm off to find more.... thanks again for your trouble, Andrew.
  13. Hi Jens, Martin and of course Eric, Eric; I'm really enjoying watching this thread develop, and wish you well with your builds - please post as often as you're able. To Jens and Martin; sorry to interrupt you two Danish gents, but I'm glad that you are discussing these things in English, as I'm learning heaps. I wasn't aware that LANTIRN couldn't go on to Block 10 jets and whilst I was aware of the EWMS pylon (and its different nose) I didn't know about the changed back end nor have I seen it in use, which I think was in the original suggestion re stores. Anyway, thanks for the info, and I'm
  14. Hi Doctor David, Thanks again for the update on your progress, and for your efforts to research and produce a quality product. I hope the 1/72 pod is not too fiddly to make, as I have an ever-increasing number of projects that I would like to hang a Litening pod on. This, of course, seems to mirror the number of pictures of various aircraft that I've found with this pod slung somewhere. Perhaps I should just stop looking for reference material! Keep up the great work, cheers, Andrew.
  15. Hi Daryl, Your thread has reminded me that I was going to look at home for a Superscale decal sheet in 1/72 which I thought covered this aircraft. Well, a thousand apologies for my dreadful memory! I am currently at home, and have found SS decal 72-580, which does indeed have markings for this aircraft (including sharksmouth). Would you be interested in them, or will the Xtradecal markings you mention suffice? Also, I can't find the instructions for this sheet. A note about the Superscale markings - the 'SP' codes look a little out of scale (too tall), but probably nothing that you couldn't
  16. Hi Doctorpepper, I am really grateful for your updates on the progress you're making, which looks tremendous! I'll second (third?) what others have said about creating something for us who model in 1/72. It's very much appreciated, and I would simply like to encourage you at this point... keep up the great work. Cheers, Andrew.
  17. Hi David (doctorpepper), I'd like to throw my hat in the ring for both Litening and Sniper pods in 1/72. I'd be interested in modest numbers (max. 10 of each), but am very grateful for your efforts and thinking behind this project, so will take whatever I can get! I'm watching this thread with interest, and thanks for your update. regards, Andrew Steinbeck.
  18. Hi Yang, Honoured that you should include me here, but please allow me to reciprocate. The trade went very smoothly, and I certainly benefited from your willingness to exchange. Your communication was great right from the initial request, so I immediately knew that I could confidently deal with someone who knew what they were after. Hope all goes well, and my thanks again for this trade. Andrew.
  19. Hi dagger00, I dropped in on this thread out of sheer curiosity (I would also like to build an Argentinian Mirage/Finger/Mara, but will utilise the High Planes kit), and have learnt heaps from your explanation and the great links you've posted. Many thanks for your trouble, I'm still looking at the many images in the first link, let alone the others.... Cheers, AndrewS.
  20. Hello Erik, I can't help you with any information on aftermarket GE nozzles in 1/72 (if I knew any I'd purchase them, rather than using nozzles from other sources - like Fujimi's F-14B, or the AMT Block 40 F-16 kit), but I do have the Aires set for the radar antenna and radome. Like all the Aires resin I've seen, it is very detailed and seems quite straightforward to incorporate. If you're interested in trading something in 1/72, you are welcome to this set. Feel free to PM me for further details. Regards, Andrew Steinbeck.
  21. Hi Julien, sorry for the delay in replying to you, but I'm now actually at home, and can access the pieces (the option of relying on my memory is clearly the poor cousin). My conversion is a total of five short-run injection pieces produced in the eighties (ish) by a New Zealand firm called Ventura; I simply do not recall how I came to have these bits, only that I'm glad I've got them. The set is basically two forward fuselage halves (applied to a recommended Hasegawa kit at, yes, you guessed it, the forward end of the main undercarriage bay), upper wing piece, and lumps and bumps for the
  22. Hi Julien, Congratulations on completing this conversion; all credit to you for finishing what sounds like quite an involved project - probably more than what you envisaged when you started, I guess. The end result is great, and the photos and your previous descriptions inspired me dig out my bits for an RF-8G in 1/72. It's probably the soft option, but I'd also really like to see it done in injected form. I hope that Academy will come to the party, and without too much delay. Well done on the paint scheme as well. Cheers, Andrew.
  23. Hi Maurizio, Many thanks for continuing to update us with the progress on your Jayhawk. I find it very inspiring, and have really enjoyed watching the development of your kit. I eagerly await your next steps. Thanks again, Andrew Steinbeck
  24. Hi Jon, looking really good, and I'm sure the finished product will be awesome. I've enjoyed your thread so far, and look forward to more pictures. I have a 6 Sqn machine in an identical scheme on the go, and your posts have kept me inspired; it's a scheme I associate very favourably with my earliest interests in big noisy jets, and I really want to see my own efforts turn out as well as yours. Keep up the great work, Andrew.
  25. Hi, I'm adding my voice to your deserved accolades; like madmike, I really enjoy seeing work done with spare plastic, imagination and flair. Looking forward to more, cheers, Andrew.
