  1. Thanks very much for your reply. I'm intrigued (a tad perplexed?) by the coloured background to some of the markings.... Despite my reservations, I hope they work very well for you; I'll be following with great interest. Cheers, Andrew.
  2. Hi Litvyak, Nice start made on a great subject. Could you please share your thoughts on the Oldmodels decals? I'm keen to hear more, as I'd like to purchase at least two of their 1/72 A-4K sheets, this one and the Euro 1 scheme set. Thanks in advance and good luck with your build. Andrew.
  3. Hello Don, Great review as ever and an interesting comparison with the other Renegade brushes. I must investigate the company's offer of an upgrade to the needle seal, as the stiffness of my Renegade Velocity's rearward trigger motion is one of that brush's major disappointments. Thanks again for keeping us up to date with this impressive addition to the Renegade series. Regards, Andrew.
  4. Bump. Still looking (!) and would be chuffed to hear from someone with these parts. I've edited the title a little to include similar items from the Fujimi kits. Cheers, Andrew.
  5. It's good to hear that your conversions have now arrived; I'm curious to see how much they alter the 'classic' Mirage nose appearance and of course your completed builds, which shouldn't take too long.... Cheers, Andrew.
  6. Hello Ham, I have sheet 72-004 if you haven't already found those markings. If still available, I'm interested in the markings on offer from 72-028. Cheers, Andrew.
  7. Fascinating subjects for this GB, Bosse. I wasn't aware of any of the recce nose configurations you'll be using and clearly have a lot to learn about the Israelis' use of early Mirages for this mission. Thanks for choosing such an interesting topic. I'm looking forward to your builds and hope that the conversions arrive quickly for you. Cheers, Andrew.
  8. G'day Fred, Sorry it's taken so long for me to check what I've got, but I can help with the OV-10D (from 72-008, VMO-1) and some PR ANG decals for the F-104C (not from the ESCI kit, but rather from Propagteam sheet No. 72104 from the mid-90s - markings for this scheme look pretty good, unlike other options depicted on the sheet). Let me know if either or both of these are of any use. Cheers, Andrew.
  9. Hi, I think I can help you out here; if you still need them, send me a PM with your name and address and I'll get these parts in the mail. They'll be coming from Australia, so it might take a little while. Cheers, Andrew.
  10. Hello Fabien, Congratulations on this outstanding finish; it's a great tribute to such a fine aircraft. Like Deon, I really appreciate the time you've taken to compile such an interesting thread and the way you've shared your knowledge and techniques. Thanks and I look forward to your next builds, whatever they may be. Cheers, Andrew.
  11. Lovely decalling and weathering, Fabien. Thanks as ever for your updates; can't wait to see the finishing touches. Cheers, Andrew.
  12. Lovely result, Ivan. Congratulations on such a fine build; I especially like the metallic finish. Cheers, Andrew.
  13. Very fine progress, Fabien. The cockpit overall is much improved over the kit detail; congratulations on capturing the tiny details so well. Should we worry about the safety of the pitot probe though? Cheers, Andrew.
  14. Hello Ivan, More great progress; it sounds like a considerable amount of surface preparation going on prior to the Alclad, but necessary I'm sure. I see that you've added two thin strips to the rear cockpit deck (area behind the seat, under the aft canopy section); I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that the kit deserves a bit of extra attention in this regard. I'm looking forward to more of your work. Cheers, Andrew.
  15. What a lovely result, Fabien. I've just received my copy of the Leading Edge decals, and am doubly inspired to start painting a kit that's been built for some time..... Thanks for sharing your pics and looking forward to more of your German jet. Cheers, Andrew.
  16. More very interesting releases, Mark. Good on you for covering the ATAC Kfir; may have to get that sheet. Thanks as ever for producing fascinating stuff in 1/72. cheers, Andrew.
  17. Hi Ivan, You've made great progress already on your Starfighter. I like to read your descriptions of the build and agree with the others about your choice of subject; I think I can guess which scheme you mean. This will be another frequently-visited topic I'm sure. Cheers, Andrew.
  18. Hello Fabien, Great CF-104 and thanks for posting more pics of your model. It's fascinating to see the variations in camouflage schemes, especially those with the odd piece of borrowed airframe. Cheers, Andrew.
  19. Not the best photo to illustrate the scheme, but hopefully it shows the main features - gunship grey and black stencils. There was another in overall dark grey, A21-7, that had grey stencils and yet another jet (A21-1) that modified the standard scheme to have dark grey over blue grey which also looked 'the business', but A21-20 more or less as illustrated is still my favourite. Cheers, Andrew.
  20. Fabien, your previous build is just superb. I'm sure the RF-104 will look just fine however you decide to finish it. Cheers, Andrew.
  21. Very impressive preparation, Fabien. I'm really looking forward to your painting; the Navy scheme is very attractive - I assume you'll have dayglo orange on the tanks (my favourite part of the scheme)? Cheers, Andrew.
  22. Really nice progress, Fabien. Good going on the nosewheel doors and fairings; I'm sure the thinner doors will look much better. I take your point about the age of the Hasegawa moulds and their impact on that rear fuselage join - most of my concerns being with the alignment and depth of plastic immediately ahead of the ventral fin on the newer releases. Hope all continues well for you and look forward to more pics of your progress. Cheers, Andrew.
  23. Hello all, I'm another big fan of the aircraft and this Group Build, so will contribute two 1/72 Hasegawa Starfighters. One will be a Dutch RF-104G (306 Sqn), finished with the assistance of an Aviation Workshop Orpheus pod and Modeldecal sheet No. 43, and the other will be a Belgian F-104G, using the new Daco stencil decals. I'll start a WIP thread soon. Cheers, Andrew.
  24. Nice progress, Fabien. Can I ask what you've used to depict the camera fairing? It would be good to think that there's a set of these fairings available for the various recce Starfighters ..... nevertheless, it seems to be a straightforward shape to scratchbuild. Do you still have to add the forward part of the fairing that sits on the nosegear doors? Here's some Airliners shots to illustrate what I mean: Aircraft 2124 and 2121. Thanks very much for your updates and info. Cheers, Andrew.
  25. Thanks for your response, Fabien. The progress on your cockpit is impressive - great painting. Good illustration as well of the differences between the early and late J-79s. Hope all continues well for your build. Cheers, Andrew.
