  1. Well gee, maybe amk didn't contact anyone here on this forum because of all the crap they were catching? You think maybe? As for the rest of the stuff you said you're correct I do not have the answer to any of that
  2. In addition the only reason you don't see build threads here is because the individual modelers have chosen to post the pictures of their builds in the Facebook group that I created for just that purpose. I however will post my build here and I'll make a build thread. My only problem at the moment is life has gotten in the way and I haven't had much time to work on the kit since I got it. In addition, this whole last week is the anniversary of the date of my son's death and model building is the last thing on my mind at the moment.
  3. You have this way wrong. Kits were not just given out to some modelers in America. It was not even amk's idea to give any kits to anyone in America. It was my idea and my idea alone. I stated this previously but maybe you didn't see it. When I saw that the Malaysian modelers we're getting 10 kits it came to my mind that it would be cool if we in America could be doing this too. So I took it upon myself to contact Sio at AMK and bug the hell out of him to see if I could wrangle 10 kits out of him for us in America to do the same thing the Malaysian modelers we're doing. Amk is not trying to con
  4. True. There is no "right to free speech" on a forum. Anything at all anywhere on a forum is indeed subject to whatever the owner sees fit. And the moderators, while we discuss things sometimes, are bound to moderate the forums by the owner's edicts or wishes. And hell, this forum's owner is Canadian and I personally have no clue what free speech rights there even are in Canada! The whole free speech thing is American.😉
  5. Well I'm telling you now that this photo is GREATLY exaggerating this misalignment. I mean come on...the photo is a closeup and is at least 5 times the size of the part. You can't see this "misalignment" unless you use some kind of magnifying device! I had to use my reading glasses AND a 4X magnifying headset to see it. Good grief.....
  6. While this was written for Facebook groups, most of it applies to forums too... Q: How many people does it take to change a lightbulb in a Facebook group? 1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed. 14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently. 7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs. 17 purists who use candles and are offended by light bulb discussions. 6 to argue over whether it's 'lightbulb' or 'light bulb'. Another 6 to condemn thos
  7. Bwahahahaaaaaaa... I got the joke
  8. I think this is about as best as I can get. It's hard to photograph this clear piece! I think what some of you are seeing as a misalignment is just some kind of reflection of the notch there for the mirror shining through the clear and distorting the image.
  9. Not sure exactly what angle you mean... 90 degrees to the side of the canopy? Straight down over the top? Or straight in at the end of the canopy? I mean, no matter what angle I shoot, there isn't anything misaligned...
  10. Hopefully this can put this nit to rest. There is no axial misalignment. What you are seeing is the little notch in the canopy to place the photoetch mirror into. There are two notches...one on each side of the end of the canopy. Hopefully this shot can end this.
  11. Ummm...did you guys even see the other photo I posted of the canopy that shows there is zero axial misalignment????? There is NO MISALIGNMENT! So please....just drop this particular nit as it is baseless.
  12. Must be the photos cuz I see no misalignment whatsoever holding it in my hands. This canopy is just about perfect.
  13. What "Axial misalignment" are you referring to? This canopy is excellent!
  14. Dave is correct. There are two seam lines running the full length of the canopy...one on each side.
  15. Why do I have to continually come in here end tell you guys to knock off the stupid crap!? You want to talk about the kit go ahead. But what is all this baloney about the continent and beyond your understanding etc etc. Just please knock off the stupid crap. Keep to the business at hand.
  16. And everyone should remember...AMK didn't just send us those kits out of the blue. That only came after quite a few messages back and forth between Sio and I where I was asking HIM to send us those 10 kits to build....so we could do this test build here in the USA alongside the talented Malaysian builders! Many thanks to Sio for granting this request!
  17. Just to get you guys more info...you know there are TWO bladders right?
  18. Zactoman asked for these... Please excuse my fingerprints on the glass!
  19. A quick 40 second video showing the canopy placement via locating tabs onto the fuselage. SOrry but Fotki doesn't give me the code to share on forums for the videos.... https://public.fotki.com/tsumner/scale-modeling/jet-airplane-models/amk-f-14d/dsc-0002.html
  20. A few more..... These seats look damn good for not being resin!
  21. Gee I don't know about the pivot point being too low. It looks pretty low here on this shot from The Squadron Walkaround....
  22. Ok this is my photo. I think it's the area some of you guys have been discussing? Please remember, these parts are only taped together...and kind of loosely... I don't know if this angle is sufficient...
