  1. I dont know if I am the exception but have done 2 deals now with Mike and no problems on both occasions. Given when the Kit arrived in the UK he sent his to me well before I mailed his the other way. Julien
  2. If you need wing roundels then Hannants do a generic set . Got them for my Bucc. Julien
  3. I have looked into this and there are not many external differences from the M model. Most changes were to the electronics, putting MFD's etc in the cockpit and new radar units. Also the pilots got a helmet mounted site so they could fly the things without having there heads stuck inside. Check out http://www.mig-21.de/English/TechnicalData...iG-21Lancer.htm for some goods pics Also http://www.arrow-aviation.nl/rom_lancer.html for some nice pics of the 4 tone Green/brown scheme and 3 tone grey. If you want some great decals for these aircraft then I can recomend a sheet from Linden Hill fo
  4. Is it me or the old Matchbox Box Art a great deal better than what we get today, if you look at some (the Wellington for example) it seems a great deal went into these box arts to get you to part with your cash. Julien
  5. Nice looking voodoo there, I really like the canadian ones, The kit decals got trashed in mine so ended up doing it as from The Minnesota ANG Turned out OK if I say so, Julien
  6. Wow I must say that looks great, :) can I as what you used to tone the paint down with? as it looks suitably weathered without going over the top. Julien
  7. This is Revel 1/24 Ferrari F1 car F412, built for a guy at work, the kit is not bad, though not upto the standard of Tamyias car kits. Julien
  8. Yes, Stan got that one right, OK for washed and touch ups but not major work. Julien
  9. If putting decals on wet future I have found it sucks them down well and you dont have to use anything. If you did use sol it might not move them as the future will set the decal. Julien
  10. Just got Albatros decals Weird Migs 21's 1&2, guess I am going to be building a few Mig 21's. Excellent decals by the way! Julien
  11. Damn, now I have got to build more Migs! Count me in for a sheet. Julien
  12. I know it sounds a bit strange but if matt white then lightly rub the surface with your finger, the oils kind of gunge things up a bit without going overboard on any raised details. For recessed lines etc go with as light a wash as you can. Julien
  13. Guys, thanks for all your help, knew the ARC regulars would if they could! A6BSTRAM, thanks for the long reply at least knowing the buttons came in in 1970 means I dont have to add them to my aircraft. Cheers, Julien
  14. I would add that not all ZD Kits are very poor copies, they just need some work, after all even the Academey ones nedd a good deal to make them look good. I have a ZD EF-111 and it is not to bad a copy at all, the actual surface of the kit is a bit rough but the pannel lines are deep enough to take a light sanding. If like me you are intending to use a black box cockpit and aftermarket decals then £5 for a ZD kit is better than £20 for an Academey one. I would highly recomend the scale down stuff as well, very high quality resin, especially the wheels and burner cans. Julien
  15. Cheers, I had already found these on the net, but good to see someone reads my posts. Do I gather from your avtar that you know something of A-6B's?? I intend to do my Monogram A-6 as a B model, specifically the one lost on 29th August 63 by VA-85 in which Lt's Duncan and Ashall were posted MIA; as I came accross their story while reasearching the B model. I did see somewhere that the aircraft from VA-85 had a black bat on a yellow circle but did not know if this was on these aircraft, in addition as B models were passed from one sqn to another if this aircraft even had VA-85 marks on i
  16. Can anyone help, looking for images of markings on A-6 aircraft of VA-85 on USS America 1968, any images welcome, A-6B especially so. Cheers, Julien
  17. Old Revel Space Shuttle with Space lab module, this is the kit from around 1980 before the shuttle actually flew. Made this as a Kid in 1980 and could not resist when i saw them on ebay for a fiver. By the way Mark, check out some of theose really weird schemes for the Felixstowe! Plus Steve, bad luck being caught by customs, I have ordered amny thins from HLJ and never managed to get caught (yet!) Julien
  18. I just use plain old tupentine subsitute, about the cheapest there is, works for me. Julien
  19. Cheers, for the picture, do you know if they were carried under both wings or just one? Cheers, Julien

    SAR Defiant

Anyone have any photos, or link to photos of a defiant being used in the SAR role. Looking specifically for the dinghy canisters carried. Thanks Julien
  21. I have never tried this myself but a good friend of mine does it all the time, helps to have an opening you can get all the bits out of later though. Julien
  22. I would not recommend sanding future at all. It is normally self leveling so should be no problems, I brush it all the time. Some flat coats tend to suck up the future and you may need another coat to get everything covered, sounds like why you have streaks, just paint more furture on this area. Yes your final flat coat should cover this up. Julien
  23. You could sand and polish it out if not too deep. Try some 600 or 1200 grit (if you can get it) wet and dry and sand out the marks (not too heavy). Then you will need to polish it out, if you are new to building and dont have to many supplies the best thing for this is plain old toothpaste. You will then need to clear coat the canopy with Jihnsons clear or Future (might be called something else where you live) Julien
  24. Better know as Simone from Italy, good to deal with, Thanks Julien (UK)
  25. Neil, any chance of posting how we can order direct, must have missed it if posted before. Cheers, Julien
