  1. Reading through the New Tamiya 1/72 Birdcage F4U-1 description on HLJ, the author mentions F4U-1's in the US during the war that were painted gloss sea blue and had the longer tailwheel struts. Anybody know of some good web or print photos and references for these aircraft?
  2. Thanks for the help everyone! And thank you fizzy for the ER wing diagram! I'll try my luck on the trading forum for the GE engines.
  3. Hello everyone, Is there a 1/200 GE90 engine available in either plastic or resin? I'm converting Hasegawa's 777-300 into an ER. Speaking of the ER, is there a good top view plan on the ER 777 that I can use to scratchbuild some raked wingtips. Regards, James
  4. Yeah I gotta' bail too. Work and other committments outside of work got in the way these past 6 months.
  5. Looks like Trumpeter didn't want the Wyvern to get lonely! Trumpeter 2006
  6. I wanted to get one of F-RSIN's Convair 880's from their website so I shot them an e-mail. However my mail just bounced right back! The site says they take Paypal but which account should I send the dough to? I'm a little skeptical right now if ordering straight from their site is trustworthy.
  7. Just wondering, has anyone ever tried sticking Tamiya's Pegasus engine into the Monogram fuselage? Might make for a keen maintenance display.
  8. Straycat, awesome interior detail there for the grills! That'll really make it stand out. Mike, the grills can be found in a Fine Molds F/A-18 PE detail fret. They even include the new 'fishbone' exhaust grills and IFF antennae. You can get them from HLJ. http://www.hlj.com/product/FNMAC-76
  9. leigh gave a look at the kit in a post from a while ago. Unfortunately it doesn't look like its very good. FJ-2 Look
  10. Chuck. The Accurate Miniatures re-pop of the R/M Helldiver portrays a -4 Helldiver in Atlantic Markings based at NAS Atlantic City. Perhaps they were just patrolling the US coast? The Academy kit gives marking options for a Grey over White Helldiver in the "Arantic" scheme. Has anyone raised issues about the accuracy of the Academy kit markings?
  11. I've got a Academy Helldiver in the stash and I'm planning to do it in Atlantic colors. Is there anything I need to modify on the Academy kit to represent an Atlantic squadron?
  12. Since I live between both a JGSDF and a JASDF base, I tend to see the following... UH-1H's (Plenty of these!) UH-60J's (Both GSDF ones, and the ASDF rescue birds) CH-47J's T-4's I used to live in San Diego so I saw tons of interesting planes. The usual Bugs, Hercs, Vikings, etc. Once I saw a An-124 fly out of Miramar. Very impressive sight! I've even seen a Raytheon A-3, and the ATAC Kfirs and Drakens. And I even remember spotting some L-39's once
  13. VMFAT-101 at Miramar also has adversary jets. They will be on a couple upcoming Twobobs sheets as well. The Rough Riders at Leemore also now have some camo Bugs to do some ACM.
  14. And yet there are some perfectly good Berievs that could be bought for as much as these modded 747's, if not less.
