  1. How about a hypodermic needle? I use 18 ga on my 1/32 builds. I flatten then taper end and insert a wire inside it.
  2. Yea, I get it if Joe citizen designed and implemented it after being hired to do it. But if military personnel do it on military time, shouldn’t it belong to the military? Just like when I spent 29 years working for the state. It was clearly stated that if I designed a widget to make my work easier on company time, it belonged to the University I worked for, not me. Hell, I designed all kinds of TV and camera mounting systems, but they belong to the university, not me. So does the military get to hold a copyright on aircraft artwork?
  3. Steve, I remember that 💩 show. Big stirrup in the aftermarket too. No longer “Wright R-1820” radial engine on packaging. Just 1820 radial engine now. Tamiya got the permission for the F-16, but not the Thunderbirds apparently?
  4. So I guess they hired it out? Not military guys doing it? Interesting. Makes me wonder about the Shaw Viper demo plane now. Wasn’t the whole deal with the Tamiya 1/32 Thunderbird kit over the same thing? I had read somewhere that a private organization that supports the Thunderbirds group got a copyright on the paint schemes.
  5. Military planes with copyrights? I guess they do things differently over there?
  6. Nice pic! I just saved it for reference when I build mine. That weathering and wear is going to be hard to replicate.
  7. Here’s a build over on LSP. https://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?/topic/93100-132-f-16c-tamiya-venom-viper-demo-team/
  8. I’ve purchase the 1/32 masks to build this. One day…. BTW, it’s just one aircraft. Shaw AFB is down the road from me. https://www.shaw.af.mil/Viper-Demo-Team/
  9. I was going to say the same reason people climb Mt. Everest. Because it’s there! But yours make more sense!
  10. I’ve used the “bleche white” tire cleaner. Yes, it’s spelled that way. Now lists it as “new formula” so I’d test it first. Funny, I googled this to get the spelling correct and an Amazon ad came up. Clicked on it and it told me I last purchased this in 2018. But I actually soaked the parts in it overnight and rinsed off in hot water.
  11. Oh crap! I just saw a quickbooks spam as soon as I went back to the main page. Sorry guys…
  12. Sorry to hear of the work load. I’m a moderator on another forum (Don’t want to say in case the spammers are reading this 😆) and I guess we’re pretty lucky. 2 or 3 hits a month
  13. Just shove an acrylic rod up its …..exhaust. prop jobs may have a few complications.
  14. FWIW, someone in the loop posted that the Chinese IM plant made several changes to the way the kits were laid out on the sprues and changed the build design, against KH’s objections. Ex: the T-6 Texan cowl was supposed to be one piece and not 4.
  15. Out of box? Yes. Recently too. Follow instructions? Those are a suggestion. I jump around and while one subassembly is drying , I’ll jump to things like assembling tail sections or wing halves so I can start the process if filling gaps sooner. This one was out of box last year. I was afraid the decals would crumble because the kit was so old. But the slid off like they were printed yesterday.
  16. I want to say 1/32 Phantoms (I build mainly 1/32) I’ve done 3 so far and have 5 or 6 Tamiya kits in the stash and about 4 or 5 Revell. But it seems that the F-16 has taken the spotlight away somehow. I’ve built 7 of the old Revell kits. 5 are done as Thunderbirds in an inflight display and I used Tamiya decals. I’ve also built a 2 seater for my Doc that’s the flight surgeon for the SCANG. I built him one as the bird he gets back seat time in. My stash of F-16’s is about 6 still if memory serves me correctly. A Tamiya T-bird and I want to build a two seater t-bird as well. I think I hav
  17. Yes. The 1/32 F-5 re-release was discussed back in Dec. It’s under the name “Storm Factory”. https://www.stevenshobby.com/productlisting.aspx?supplierid=6175&categoryid=1 apparently already released! Good read on Brit modeler https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235119381-132-f-5en-and-f-5f-by-storm-factory/
  18. Looks great! I’m building the same thing right now in 1/32 using the old Revell kit. Yours makes I think the 4th build of this subject I’ve seen on different forums currently going on. Seems to be a very popular subject right now.
  19. Order placed! oops! Not for these, but the 1/32 Vipers.
  20. Kind of makes sense. Like the cruise missiles put the battleship out of business. But yet the good old delivery platform, the B-52, has proven over and over again its value for almost 70 years. B-52 and the C-130 were some amazing designs.
  21. “Please wait while Windows reboots”
  22. Yea, same here. Rivet rows are indented, but no stress wrinkles.
  23. 🤡 I guess I should have opened the box and taken a look, eh? How about the fuselage? I know the real thing is pretty wrinkled.
