  1. The Airfix 1/72 Kate is now available in the UK.
  2. The Matchbox He111 was an "H", or at least claimed to be on the box. The only 1/72 "P" is the Hasegawa kit as far as I can tell. Heller had a go at the B-1 Stuka as well, although it's reputedly somewhat underscale, around 1/75. I suspect a Ju88 from Airfix is only a matter of time. John
  3. According to Humbrol, their new formula Decalfix works on matt surfaces: John
  4. This photo was publsihed in yesterday's Sunday Herald: http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/world-news/air-strikes-pound-islamic-state-positions-in-syria-killing-25-civilians-and-nine-fig.25252870 John
  5. He was also in one of the Torchwood "specials". J
  6. John Adams says the thrust line of the Airfix Spitfire nose is about 0.75mm too high - I suspect most people aren't going to notice. The major difference between the Airfix and the Tamiya MkIs is that the Airfix shortcomings can be fixed but the Tamiya can't. What do you base the "6 scale inches" oversize of the spinner on? Is that length, diameter? John
  7. Red Arrows Hawks are apparently wired for Sidewinders and 30mm ADEN: http://i941.photobucket.com/albums/ad258/tommercerphotography/SDC15369.jpg John
  8. There was also a P-40E but it hasn't seen the light of day, at least in the UK, in years. John
  9. 1/72 scale HMS Astute? That might be an error... John

  11. I can't comment on MM Dark Earth as this brand of paint isn't generally available here, but using the chip in the Royal Air Frorce Museum book on WWII colours and an FS595B fandeck, this is what you get. DE is quite a dark shade, being more of a dark yellow/brown than a red/brown: DE to 30219 30219 is lighter than the DE chip. 30118 to DE 30118 is noticibly darker. John

  13. Clear sprue: Decals and painting guides: Note that BM597 is a restored airframe currently flying in the UK. John
  14. This is the new Airfix 1/48th scale Spitfire Vb, available from Airfix this week in the UK and presumably from the wider trade in the next few days. The box art shows AB264 disposing of an Italian fighter over Malta: Wings are for a late Vb as moulded. The strengthening strakes need to be removed for earlier airframes, although they were retro-fitted to survivors. They need to be removed for AB264: The wingtips can be removed and clipped tips in either clear or solid plastic can be fitted, so handy if you want to do the famous IR*G: Fuselage halves: # Assorted other bits:
