  1. Same here Biggu! Civil decals are on the rise. Sometimes I manage tot print my own. Gertjan
  2. You're right Scott: all Esci JetRangers/ OH-58A's came with the three landing gear types. A re- issue of the 1:48 Esci/ ERTL JetRanger-kit is on the Italeri catalogue for some time now but has not appeared yet...
  3. Hi Scott, The Trumpeter kits all have the first type (and smallest) fenestron: to build an N-3- version out of it would require a completely new tail. All three Trumpeter kits have a hoist, but it is very rudimental. I cannot remember if the KH Dauphin (which does have the proper tail for a newer N- version) had a hoist included. Also: the Dauphin came with different types of hoists. Afaik the USCG operated the type which had one large 'bent' strut that carries the hoist mechanism. The other hoist type has three struts that carry the mechanism. Build- wise: the Trumpeter Dauphi
  4. Nice build!!! Imho the finish is just fine. I mostly build civil models, and I would be more than happy with your gloss finish; especially on small scale models the finish can be too glossy, giving the model a toy- like appearance. Gertjan
  5. Hi Jan, Strange! I have used Heller decals without problems. I did have one decal though (not Heller, don't know anymore what make it was) that did not adhere to the kit shape. I used enormous amounts of Micro Set (I handbrushed a generous new layer of Micro Set about every five minutes) and eventually it worked. Good luck! Gertjan
  6. I doubt that; since the Brits have no NH90, and Airfix tends to choose British subjects. They have the subject army troop carrier/ naval helicopter covered with their EH101- kit. The NH90 would be more of the same for them. Revell has not released any new helicopter kits recent years, and I am affraid this won't change in the near future. Rumour has it that their (1:32) helicopter kits are poor sellers. The only model manufacturer imho that might do a 1:48 NH90 kit, would be Italeri. The Italians use the NH90. Italeri has shared moulds with Revell before and has turned 1:72 moulds i
  7. So had I, I bought a few Fujimi Alouette III's and one Wasp when they were still widely available. I built them all, but on the Wasp I had poor results, and I threw it in the dustbin. '' Oh well,' I thought: 'I'll buy another one when I feel like giving it another try.' only to discover that all of a sudden the kit was nowhere to be found anymore... From then on I hardly throw away any failed builds anymore. I have boxes full of half built or completely f%$#ed up Heller and Fujimi kits... Gertjan
  8. I see, thanks! 1:48 Wasp would be good news! I still miss the Fujimi Wasp...
  9. ? Can you be a little more specific? I fail to find the info on a (forthcoming?) Scout?
  10. That's exactly what I hate about kits that have all this interior! Tons of work and the reward you get, is it's nearly impossible to close up the fuselage or the engine house plating over it... And to top it off comes the process of sanding away all the surface detail to get the outside panels flush again. Reason for me to stick to the Italeri kit.... Respect the patience of the both of you! Gertjan
  11. Hi Sean, I must say I am by no means a specialist on the Black/ Pave/ Ocean/ Sea Hawk helicopters, but I have built both 1:48 Italeri and Minicraft Black Hawks and Pave Hawks. All builds went ok, but the detail on the Italeri imho is better. I remember the troop seats on the Minicraft kit were completely wrong: four straight down legs on every seat, looked like a '50s kitchen interior. On the other hand: I didn't like the Italeri frontal glazing, which has quite an unusual parts break up. Somehow I cannot help thinking that this subject must have been on the formum before, with
  12. Good info Winnie, thanks! Just curious: what do you fly now?
  13. Sorry Robert, I have no pics for you, merely thanking you for your pictures. I had never seen good images of a VIP- interior on Hueys, nice pics! Gertjan
  14. Awesome build and awesome pictures! Good luck on your recovery Charlie, and remember: in the end, you will come out stronger! Gertjan
  15. Whoa, some work, going round these curves and tail!
  16. Very good build again, Wafu!! The steps under the back doors are a nice touch. How did you do the green pinstripes, decal, or masking? Gertjan
  17. I followed this thread like reading a novel, anxiously awaiting your new posts, and now it comes to an end..! Magnificent build Charlie!! Gertjan
  18. Guess all Italeri releases for 2018 are rereleases of their own or other manufacturers' kits. But hey: some new releases anyway. From what I see from the big model kit manufacturers until now, 2018 doesn't look too promising for us helicopter modellers... Anyway, eagerly awaiting the Italeri 1:48 AB206, which is a rebox of the venerable Esci- kit.
  19. My three Dauphin kits from Hobby Easy arrived today (within a week after ordering!!). I paid less for the three kits from FatFrog Models than I would have paid for just one here in the Netherlands! Thanks again for the heads up RCAFFan and Flyboy! Gertjan
  20. Awesome, Wafu! What a magnificent job to force the unwieldy Twin Huey into this beauty! Gertjan
  21. Great model Wafu! How did you get the fit of the frontal glazing so neat? Regular problem on the Dragon/ Italeri- kits... Heli Scale Quality IS a good adress for these kind of models. I also use their high skid landing gear for MD500's/ OH6's. Gertjan
