  1. Stew, If you still need one, I have an F-15 style center line tank from Revell's 1/32 F-4E Mig Killer kit. PM me if interested.
  2. Hi Darren, 1. Do the J kits have the two different style antennas under the intakes? Not sure about the kits 2. Did real J's have the antennas to the side of the main gear bays on the underside? Yes and the ones under the intakes. 3. Did early J's even have the antennas? If not, when did they start appearing? No not at first. I'm not sure when, but I would guess form photos in the MiG Killer books that it was around 1970. 4. Did B's have the antennas, or was it an N upgrade? Not sure about the B. Some one else will be though HTH Mark
  3. Another alternative could the CAM set 32058, reviewed here on ARC as well http://www.arcair.com/Rev1/401-500/Rev434_...oner/rev434.htm They are available at John's Models in Pensacola Fl. The web address is: http://www.johnsmodels.com/
  4. Hello TOM4Ever For specific details on what's wrong and whole host of ideas on how to fix them go here Click >LSP Tweak List< For some good build articles go here Click >LSP Jet Age Aviation Articles< The ones by Menelaos Skourtopoulos were very helpful.
  5. Harlod, Is that a Mk-6 seat? If so are you going to be doing a Mk-4? Thanks Mark B.
  6. I used CAM's 32-133 Data Sheet for US Navy & US Marine Corps F-4J Phantom II for stencils for the big MARINES and CAM's 32-A002 Modern U.S. Navy high visibility insignia for the big stars on the wings. I purchased mine from Great Models Webstore.
  7. And one heluva scary cameo that would be too
  8. Luca You should be able to since the only difference between the Mirage IIIE/R and the Mirage VJ kits are/were the nose cones and under wing weapons.
  9. Ian, I used this link form LSP to get a 1/32 set. >> Click Here << If you scroll to the bottom it gives contact info. The "F-4 gasket and seals" are listed at the bottom of the 3rd page of the "catalog". HTH
  10. No it means you get these pylons to use the the kit's MERs and Mk-82 bombs on. All of the F-4 kits give you the outer external tanks with the integrated pylons but even if you cut the tanks off you have to modify the pylons to get the proper weapons pylons. Only the USMC F-4J kit gives you the K sprue. There was a set of USAF style empty pylons produced by KMC which is somewhat hard to come by now, but again there were differences between the USAF pylons and the USN/USMC ones. So even if you get this set you still need to add an adapter to the bottom of them.
  11. Hey, Don't forget the much more complete set of stencil decals and the empty outer weapons pylons you get in the USMC boxing.
  12. I'd be wary of the YH sheets. The set I used had major problems with the national, branch of service and general stencil type markings (ej seat triangles, intake warnings, step markings etc). They all shattered. If I hadn't had a set of CAM's USN/USMC stencils and I would have been SOL. And the tail markings on the YH sheet are wrong. I think YH got confused with tail band VMFA-333 used on their F-8's. The stripes and shamrocks should be kelly green. The YH sheet has the shamrocks in kelly green but the stripes in black. Needless to say I didn't know this until some time after I had f
  13. I had this discussion with some instructor friends of mine at the Aviation Ordnance Officer Progression course at NAS Wighting several years ago when I was building a VMFA-333 F-4J. One of the guys who was an armorer and then went on to become a RIO in the F-4J and F/A-18B/D said that the pods were used for what he termed "area strafing". He said they would use the pods against massed infantry and columns of light skinned vehicles (trucks and light APCs). As far as I know no one has done an offering of these in 1/32. The closet thing I've seen was one made for their F-4B conversion from
  14. For Rampage55 Shots of my first Phantom (Tamyia 1/32 F-4J USN kit) begun in June of 2002 and finished in May of 2006. Finished with Yellow Hammer and CAM decals. Go Trip Treys!
  15. Hi Dan, That is a great build. I hope I can get as good a paint job on mine. You are at my favorite part of the build, the point where the parts begin to look like the real thing. Keep up the good work. Mark.
  16. Great job on all those little decals. That is the one part of the build I am not looking forward too.
  17. Mark, Outstanding work. That cockpit looks absolutely phantastic. Especially in that scale. Hey thanks for the tip on the canopy rails. I had been wondering about how to fix that on the Revel kit since its canopy parts are very much like the Hasegawa ones. Mark.
  18. Thanks guys, but my talents pale when compared to most of the builders around here. I hope to keep trying though. This is my 2nd bird in 5 years. Like I said it takes me awhile. I was only able to get a few minutes in on this at lunch. Probably won't be able to do much more until the weekend. Anyway I was able to work on the WSO's central console and radar. I am now beginning the tweaking part of fitting the cockpit together. Pilot's Cockpit WSO's Cockpit Just to give you an idea of how hodge podged this cockpit has turned out to be here's a shot of the WSO's pit before pa
  19. Hi Midnight, Not sure about the orange, I think it is Day Glow Orange, but the gray's would be highly faded FS-36118 Medium Grey and FS-36320 Dark Compass Ghost Gray from the Hill II scheme the F-4E/G wore late in life. Here is an illustration:
  20. Here is what I have so far. Please bear with me as progress has been on the slow side due to other commitments (Notably family and job). I hope to be able to pick up the pace a little bit and put in a few hours a week of building now that I have a hobby room again. Long story dealing with HIPAA and the wife’s job. As I sated in my signup post in the Participants and Entries thread, I was going to use the Legneds cockpit set but when I tried to use it I encountered several fit issues. The tub fit to low and there were other issues if I chose to use the set so in the end I opted to use vari
  21. Is it too late to join with this one? Revel's 1/32 F-4E Not sure what camo it will carry but it will be a 4th TFW bird. Still trying to decide between SEA, SEA Warp Around, Euro I wrap around and or Hill Grey II. Extras to include: Eduard F-4F Interior and exterior P.E. sets Parts from the Legends cockpit set Parts from CE's F-4E conversion set CAM J-79 Exhaust Nozzles. Mk-7 Seats from Legends or Tamiya enhanced with Edurad P.E.
  22. Good looking seats Harold. No there is not a Mk IV in 1/32 and when you get them done, put me down for two. How different is that MK V from the Mk Vs used in early (Pre 1972) F-4C/Ds and RF-4Cs? If they're not that far off I would also be interested in 4 of the Mk Vs.
  23. If it was an F-4E with LC for tail codes then it was Chico the Gunfighter. A special F-4E that flew anti personnel missions in the afternoons out of Da Nang AFB. It flew with 2 SUU-23 pods on the outer under wing pylons and 6 MK-20 Rockeyes on the inner ones. I believe Two Bob's did a decal sheet for this bird. Also I have seen photos of an F-4C that was testing this type of installation at Edwards or Eglin AFB stateside, but typically for the most part the SUU-16/23 pods were carried on the Center Line station operationally.
