  1. Come on GWH, Kitty Hawk etc. All things considered, built KP Su-22's I've seen online don't look bad to my eye. I built the Su-7 and it was ok...Ok. Here's the real deal, I guess. I really want to build a 1/48 Su-22, and KP is my only option. Please talk me out of it!
  2. Thanks much for the info. Before I began this build I figured that Soviet WWII colors were fairly cut and dry with no controversy. My previous build was of an Israeli Merkava and there's a lot of debate about its overall color. I was kind of looking forward to easier research. All part of modeling though. Thanks again for the good info.
  3. I'm building the Trumpeter Mig-3 and I have the Aires cockpit set which I have finished removing pour stubs and flash, and is now ready for paint. I've looked online and found a lot of pics, but they're all very different. Best I can tell the floor is sort of OD and the side walls and instrument panel are grey. Is that about right? Thanks
  4. Has anyone heard any talk of a new tool Su-22 kit on the horizon? It seems that I read somewhere that Trumpeter might be planning one, but I've found nothing online. I'd really like to build one but don't want to waste time on the KP kit if there's a new one coming. Thanks and happy modeling
  5. Welcome back to the hobby. We'll get you in the rotation if we can get it going again.
  6. Me too. I sent s PM to Shadowenga about the status. He was last active on ARC on 11, August,so he's still around. Hopefully we'll hear something and we can get it going again. Weird how everyone just dropped off.
  7. Set is fairly simple but I'd like to have the instructions to let me know where to cut. If you have a copy or scan please let me know. Thanks
  8. I think I remember that as well. I should probably just wait. I've been burned like that before. Working on a bear of a kit, rescribing panel lines etc, and a brand new high tech kit of the same subject comes out.
  9. Should've clarified that in my subject title 😊
  10. Thanks everyone. Odd that the KP kits command such higher prices than Smer being from the same mold.
  11. So I just recently saw a built Su-22 and it may be just what I need to get out of my current rut. The KP/Eduard kits are out there if you're ready to drop some serious coinage, and the Smer kits are much more readily available and cheaper. Of course I know what this means...you get what you pay for...but is the Smer really that much worse? And while we're on the subject, is there anyone willing to part with sn extra KP kit you have in the stash? I will buy or trade, and I have many OOP kits, detail sets, decals etc. so try me. Thanks and happy modeling
  12. I recently saw a built Su-22, and think it's just what I need to get out of my current rut. I'll either buy or trade. I have plenty of OOP kits, detail sets, and decals so please give me a try. Cheers and happy modeling
  13. Got some and have been using it. Wow. Great call. I think this stuff might even be better than Ambroid. Melts the styrene like butter. Thanks!
  14. I will check when I get home tomorrow to make sure, but I think it's a TBF-1C. I'll let you know.
  15. Nice looking scheme. That's how I did my 72nd. The fluorescent is a bit intimidating.
  16. I'm wrapping up my Skunk Models MQ-9 Reaper build and I'd like to arm it with four Hellfire missiles. The kit missiles are ok but the Hasegawa definitely look to be better detailed. Willing to buy or trade Thanks
  17. Yes, the Pavla seats look great. One thing I really do like about the cockpit iate the instrument panels. I normally don't use decals for this, but I tried it and they settled perfectly over the raised detail using only Micro Set.
  18. When I built Hasegaawa's 72nd Tornado I used Humbrol 250 and it looked good to me. Not sure about overseas shipping, but I would imagine HLJ, Sprue Bros. etc carry it.
  19. It is a very nice kit. I built the 72nd not long after it came out and I was hoping they'd release a 1/48 as that's my usual scale. Which color scheme did you do? If the fluorescent red, what did you use for that?
  20. That is a nice set. Think I'm going to go this route. Thanks for the link.
