  1. Hi I put the Tape on the upper part of the plane, flat, and then start bending it around the fuselage so it looks like a straight line when viewed from the side. The hard part on this particular build is the No. 2 Engine, which makes this process be repeated twice (and little space between the engine intake and the fuselage. Thanks for your comments Take Care
  2. Update Future Coat on... waiting for it to dry to start masking for the aluminum color: Wings, Horizontal Stabilizers, engine intake rings and belly. Engines Dry Fitted for Picture, they are also waiting their future coat. Thanks for your comments. Take Care
  3. Thanks Gregg And the Cowboys paper towels were on sale. My Football team Sucks, my second team just won the Super Bowl :D Take Care
  4. Hi fellas I don't mind the small cup, I had a Badger syphon airbrush until recently and I use its bottles to mix and store paint, just pour it into the Cup and off I go. Thanks for the help, I did get the Iwata airbrush. Take Care

  6. Hi Fellas Even though the build was finished a couple of months ago, and its article is on ARC already, but I just want to let y'all know this is my first win in a Model Category so I guess this puts the cherry on this marvelous bird, and one I've utterly enjoyed. Hope you have as well Take Care
  7. Thank you guys Update. Doing a color check, I realized Testor's Model Master Ultraviolet Pearl is a match to FedEx purple... but thing is, when I applied it, it turned out with small glitter. Its a car paint, and it shows. So doing some research, About 3 or 4 people suggested Tamiya Purple. I wasn't sure it would work, but it actually did splendidly. Just an under layer of Tamiya dark blue and voilá! Anyways, the With the purple on, it is now time too let it cure, and next up touch ups before the Future coat. The wings go Aluminum, so those are last. Thanks for the comments. Take Care
  8. Hi fellas It was time to paint the purple on my FedEx DC-10... After some color checking, I came to the conclusion that MM Spray Can Laquer MM Ultraviolet Pearl matches (or very closely matches) to what I need. I sprayed some and I was pleased with the result.... on the test Turns out on the model, it looks like what it is : car paint. The purple has sparkles and although the color is good, the shinies ruin it. Since it is a Laquer, I must let it fully cure (probably a week) before doing anything to it... ANyways, I need a color match, I don't care if it is laquer or not, I just need anothe
  9. Hi Fellas So After after 3 weeks I can Finally do some work and update this thing... pretty basic update, Tamiya TS-26 Pure White for the Fuselage... Letting it cure for now, tomorrow I have little time, so some Masking will be applied for the first color, the Gray underside that runs along the aircraft. After that, the purple, and finally, the Aluminum. Here's some size for comparison with a DC-6, an A319... Aaaand a 777. :) All 1:144 Scale!! Take Care!!

  12. Hi fellas. I have been recently introduced to Tenax. It seems like a great idea, my question is how to apply it? I know I brush it, but does the brush have to stay in the bottle? do I throw it away cuz the glue hardens it? Cotton Swabs?? Thank you, and Take Care
  13. No, for Gull gray I use black too. My personal favorite is Tamiya Smoke... but I use black 90% of the time. Again, its easy. 10 parts Mineral spirits vs 1 part paint. HTH Take Care
  14. Hi fellas After my 777, I'm still in an airliner groove, so after a medium dificult kit I go to a difficult kit: Airfix's DC-10-30 1:144 I starte this kit sometime before final construction of the 777, but since I have contact with my models only during weekdays, progress is SLOOOW. I actually just touched it today after almost a month in the bench. Anyway, this kit requires certain corrections have to be done to this kit to make it look right. The most important one is the Engine pylons sit waaay too low. You have to cut 1/8 of an Inch from them to make them look right. Also, windows are to
  15. I like oil washes, the effect is a bit filthier and works for Navy birds. Add 10 parts Mineral Spirits to 1 part paint, and stir... apply on the model AFTER the GLOSS COAT... let it dry overnight, clean with a cotton swab damp in Spirits (NOT WET). That's how I do eets. Take Care
