  1. Thanks, Dutch. That 58-0053 would suit my needs already. The reason why I'm so keen on an E-model is that the engines in the Academy kits aren't that great. I have the Fisher set with the engines for the E and I'm not going to use my Fisher nose on anything else. Cheers, Stefan.
  2. Hi, That would be a nice sheet, but are there any E-models on that? I thought that the KC-135E only served in ANG units and that list seems almost entirely active duty USAF. I gather that the 314th ARS was AFRES, so probably no E-models either. I'll echo Dutch in saying "Please do an ANG sheet." Cheers, Stefan.
  3. Hi, How about a "A-10: the early years" sheet? There are some really nice schemes there. I love the pictures of the first A-10's at Davis Monthan with their celestial camouflage: beautiful pastel colours and black outline badges. And the famous JAWS aircraft. We all know them, but I'm not even aware of an aftermarket sheet for them. With the way that these early A-10's were marked, I figure that a lot of options could be fitted onto a sheet. Cheers, Stefan.
  4. Hi, Roden seems to be thinking of doing a B-36. The availability of new kits should be good for the sales of the Caracal sheet. Maybe both (Roden and Caracal) can make a series of releases out of it. Cheers, Stefan.
  5. Great to hear that you're both doing better, Steve. I haven't heard that our National Convention here in Belgium has been cancelled yet. It's scheduled for early October and I've heard of another modeling event scheduled for the 27th of September being cancelled. Cheers, Stefan.
  6. Hi, Has anyone used this set on their Kitty Hawk Huey? How did it go? Bounce, For your original question, I thought of Blackdog resin. But my search didn't yield any thing really useful for you. I saw some folded blades for V-22 Ospreys, but I don't think that's what you're looking for. Reskit has some other items that you might like. https://www.hannants.co.uk/search/index.php?adv=1&product_category_id=&product_division_id=&manufacturer_id=362862&product_type_id=&code=&scale_id=&keyword_search=Rotor&setPerPage=25&sort=
  7. Totally awesome! So many options that I really hoped to see some day. I have the early years F-15 sheet, hoping to build one. I have the early years Hornet sheet, more as a collector than really hoping to build one. But from this one, I'll build several if live long enough. Thank you, Kursad.
  8. Hi, Nice Phantoms! Sorry to hear that the Academy kit was so uninspiring for you. I have continued work on my 4 F-4J's, although I haven't posted anything. The fuselage is closed on the Hasegawa one now. After an attempt to paint the instruments, I switched to the Furball Decals cockpit set. Cheers, Stefan.
  9. Hi, Soon, all the decals will be in place. Then, I just have to add the antenna's, the astrodome and the props. The D-Day stripes went well enough on the wings. The ones on the rear fuselage were a bit of a disaster, I think they don't take into account that the fuselages gets narrower there. The plan is to paint the invasion stripes on the fuselage of the Airfix C-47 "That's all, Brother" and use decals for the ones on the Wings. Cheers, Stefan.
  10. Hi, I'm just delighted that a really accurate P-38H is coming. Pity it's only a limited edition, I believe that it is such an important subtype that it deserves to be available in the future. Cheers, Stefan;
  11. Thanks, Kurt. This morning, I tried to make the fuselage windows on the Italeri kit with Kristal Klear...and failed. After several attempts, I thought that these windows are too big for that method. I considered building the Airfix one as "Drag 'em oot" and giving the Italeri one another set of D-Day markings. Not a really happy thought. This evening, I tried making the windows on the Nitto kit, just to see if I could still do it on smaller openings. It worked like a charm. I then made another attempt on the 1/72 kit with a really big blob of Kristal Klear and it wo
  12. Hi, I just can't imagine a reason why they'd have made the separate bridle hook blanks if they weren't planning to do naval Phantoms. Cheers, Stefan.
  13. Hi, Some touch-ups will be needed, knocked-off antenna's will have to be re-glued,... I'm thinking of adding another Dakota: a 1/48 Monogram AC-47 with the Laotian option from the Caracal sheet. Cheers, Stefan.
  14. Hi, I really didn't like the lighter OD, I do have some variaton in the finish already because I painted the control surfaces Tamiya XF-62 and masked them off. I'll also be using a wash to break the monotomy. There will be pictures before the wash. Cheers, Stefan.
  15. Hi, The windows on the Italeri kit are indeed in those groups as you described, Kurt. I painted the underside of the C-47 with Mr Paint Neutral Grey 43. That looks beautiful, great paint. I then painted the topside with MRP138 Olive Drab ANA 613. The result looked way too pale to me, toylike and as if the aircraft was painted in primer. Luckily, I also have a bottle of MRP-217 "Olive Drab 325 Swedish Army". That looks much better. The new Airfix kit is going together very well. I'll build that one as "That's all, brother". They'll look great toge

Hi, "Su Su Baby" is really beautiful. It reminded me of "Nip On Nees" Boeing B-29A, 44-62261, Nip On Nees, 344th BS, 98th BW by SDASM Archives, on Flickr "John's other wife" reminds me of "The "Koza Kid". Maybe it's the same art with another title after the locals of Koza near Kadena got upset. Cheers, Stefan.
  17. Thanks, C2j. That seems to be the answer. All my searches prior to asking here led to the Vintage Flying Museum's aircaft. They seem to have chosen a unused squadron code for their aircraft. It was otherwise completely painted as a D-Day aircraft with full invasion stripes. Cheers, Stefan.
  18. Hi, Kits-World decal set 172206 "D-Day commemorative schemes nose-art Set 2" has decals for a C-47 named " Southern Cross" with a big T9 code. So far, I have been unable to find out which squadron (TCS) had the T9 code. The others on the sheet were easy to find "Tico Belle" code Z8 was from the 84th TCS and "Placid Lassie" code ID was from the 74th TCS . Does anyone know which TCS had the T9 code? Cheers, Stefan.

Thanks, Paul. That certainly makes for a haunting piece of nose-art. Imagine Climbing into that aircraft for a trip to North Korea! If you hadn't shown the correct explanation, I might have thought this movie inspired the nose-art. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0044121/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_6 Cheers, Stefan.

Hi, Thanks, Charlie D. Some great pictures right there. I don't think I had seen "The Thing", "The Pacific Pioneer" or "Boeing's Boner" before. I suppose "The Thing" is from a horror movie, I'll have to check IMDB for that. "The Pacific Pioneer" is love at first sight an instant favorite. And of the third one I didn't even know that the expression was around in WW2. Cheers, Stefan.
  21. Thanks, Pollie. Maybe you'll catch the last ones at Hyakuri or Gifu. Gifu could be interesting, I haven't seen a "Final Year" scheme from them yet. Cheers, Stefan.
  22. That's great news, Pollie. What is a good source for FineMolds kits for us? Order directly from Japan? Cheers, Stefan.
  23. Hi, Thanks for het kind word of encouragement after my long absence, Kurt. Work on the Italeri Dakota has continued… I found it a lot easier to attach these antenna's from an Italeri Dakota that's moulded in white plastic. With everything in dark Olive Green, it was very hard to see the shallow holes in the antenna's that I had stick onto the mounting stubs. Suddenly, the windscreen slid exactly into place. I see from the picture that I'd better check my masking on that. You can see that there are no fuselage windows. I hope to make these with Kri
  24. Hi, The builds are progressing. These are the Nitto kits. The nearly complete one isn't part of the GB, I'm just finishing this one that the original owner started. The 2 objects below it are the ski's. I intend this one to have ski's and an arctic scheme. I've looked at some pictures of real aircraft with ski's and they seem to have fairings that these ski's retract to, probably for aerodynamic reasons. I'm not going to attempt to scratchbuild that. I have test-fitted the windscreen and I wonder how that's going to go. Maybe it will snap into place when I apply much more
