  1. Coming together. Intakes turned out well considering the quality. Randy
  2. Front dash in and cockpit is sealed in the fuselage.
  3. Pics and yes that padded edge around the panel had been weathered and dinged up.
  4. This has been alot of work but the results with be worth the time. The Monogram kit is pretty poor in the world of kits today and has many errors that have to be ground off and replaced. Cutting Edge's kit makes most of these very well, and gives you a ton of antennas to correct it to the specific aircraft you have in ming. The Black Box cockpit is nice but is showing it's age compared to the new ones their putting out. The build has taken alot of filling, sanded, and refitting, and filling and sanding to get it where it is now. It just started to get interesting and I thought I oughta po
  5. The AIM-54 decals came from an out of production weapons sheet and the LANTIRN pod decals are from the Hasegawa Weapons and Pods Set D. Thanks for the kudos. Randy
  6. This is a another in my production line of Tomcats over the last year, I think I built 4 them. The seats are Verlinden along with the cockpit PE set, nozzles are resin, BLU's are resin, the Phoenix is spares (thanks Dave) decals are Two Bobs, PE parts from Eduard, BombCat kit to replace kit parts, and I probably forgot a few. Cockpit is out of the box, really, that's all paint. The intakes on this aircraft are always a bear but came out well. It was harder to build a "clean" airframe than a dirty one. With the weathering you can cover alot of mistakes. In one of the pics the wing was not
  7. I have a limited amount of 1/72 weapons and need to know if the Aardvark could carry JDAM's? What about the JSOW? Looking for an interesting loadout with what I've got. Randy
  8. Forward fuslage sealed up with cockpit installed. Pretty cood fit on those wings with minimal gaps. The little Verlinden pit just slid right in, nice change for resin. And, my carefully organized pile of parts.
  9. If I can add my two cents. One thing that I usually do is use all the standard Navy colors - Dark Ghost, Light Ghost, and Medium Grey to get a base of that mottled pattern. Then I go back in with very thin black and brown. This gives the aircraft the appearance of grease and grime that gets all over the daily doors, inspection panels and the like. You might try to "outline" some of the lighter colors with the darker colors. This gives the area more definition. I know when I did my preflights I was very hands on with the aircraft pushing and pulling on things to make sure they are secure
  10. Sorry about the micro -pics I'm new to this. Here are the quick fix links to the pics problem. http://images.andale.com/f2/101/106/144325...s_F_111_001.jpg http://images.andale.com/f2/101/106/144325...s_F_111_004.jpg http://images.andale.com/f2/101/106/144325...s_F_111_009.jpg http://images.andale.com/f2/101/106/144325...s_F_111_003.jpg http://images.andale.com/f2/101/106/144325...ard_s_F_111.jpg http://images.andale.com/f2/101/106/144325...s_F_111_008.jpg http://images.andale.com/f2/101/106/144325...s_F_111_006.jpg http://images.andale.com/f2/101/106/144325...s_F_111_007.jpg
  11. Here's the tiny pit in the 1/72 F-111. Lots of nice detail that was not all that hard to pick out with paint. Deep details allowed for a depth in appearance. I haven't decided if I want to chop up the canopy yet, but need to here pretty quick. You can see that the parts are small especially for someone who works on 1/48 all the time. That's one of the 1/72 seats sitting on a 1/48 Cat seat. Enjoy the pics Randy
  12. This is the Hasegawa 1/48 VFA-103 bird. Went together well, with the usual Hasegawa problems. Turned out clean with careful dry-fitting to get it to line up just right. The seats are the older resin seats typically found in the "A" jet. I tried the resin SJU's and they wouldn't fit without sanding the sides off. Lightly weathered the new jets haven't seen a cruise yet. I'm sure after a few years they will look like our beloved Tomcats. The screens in the pit are mylar film cut to size and placed with Future. Bombs are from the Hasegawa weapons set. I'm most proud of the intakes as the

  14. I wasn't the one who bought it, I was the one that built it! Thanks for the comp. MasterJedi
  15. I haven't posted much over here but thought you guys might enjoy this one. It's your standard build with Hasegawa weapons. Hope you enjoy the pics. :o Oh, and a couple of a recent F-4 too. http://images.andale.com/f2/101/106/144325..._94_CAG_047.jpg http://images.andale.com/f2/101/106/144325..._94_CAG_045.jpg http://images.andale.com/f2/101/106/144325..._94_CAG_038.jpg http://images.andale.com/f2/101/106/144325..._94_CAG_031.jpg http://images.andale.com/f2/101/106/144325..._94_CAG_010.jpg http://images.andale.com/f2/101/106/144325..._94_CAG_018.jpg http://images.andale.com/f2/101/
