  1. out there. I've used Mr. Surfacer, thin Super Glue, thick Super Glue, paint, filler, and it seams that I keep ending up with small pin holes in the surface. I'm sure it has something to do with air being trapped in the media but what can I do to achieve better and faster results? It taken 3 or 4 times to get them finally filled in. I'm sure a few of you guys have an idea or two to help out. Randy
  2. I greatly appreciate it. Hopefully you'll have good news. Randy
  3. That would be incredible! At least I would have more than a box of parts. Randy
  4. Bought a "C" 1/48 Hasegawa F-104 on eBay and the guy shipped the model in it's box. Just wrapped it in brown paper and slapped a shipping label on it. The box is crushed, I took pics for my complaint, and all that would be fine if the only part in the box that wasn't broken was the canopy. Broken in two. Great deal on the kit that is now worthless without a canopy. Are there replacements by Squadron? or, this is shooting the moon, does someone have a canopy that they don't need? Can't believe I got suckered again. Randy

  7. Could I grind down the "long" exhaust nozzle and use it in place. Are the pedals that much different in the two, or is it worth another $10-$15 for the correct parts? This simple project sure is getting expensive! Randy
  8. I have the F-4 Phantom exhaust set and I'm building two F-104's, a "S" and a "C." Would it be correct to use the J79 exhaust in the "C" model, I know the "S" is correct. If it does I can use my Aires Phantom exhaust set and not buy another F-104 exhaust set. Randy
  9. Seems that you have a bit of knowledge regarding the ole' 104. Ok, what's the difference in the Hasegawa kits "C" and "S?" I'm not sure if the "S" kit has the extras to make a "C," then again it might. Randy
  10. What is the difference between the "S" and "C" models. I'm sure the cockpits and seats have some changes but what about the airframe? Do you of any good reference sites? Randy
  11. That would be absolutely outstanding. Is it the markings for the 104 with the shooting star on the tail or the red tail with the big white "x?" Send me an e-mail rdwoolsey1@yahoo.com Randy
  12. Going to be working on a 1/48 Hasegawa F-104 and would like some U.S. markings for the build. I pulled a kit off the shelf and it's one of the old TigerMeet kits and no options for other aircraft, doesn't even have stencils. If you have resin or P.E. you could part with that would be great too. I'll pay quickly with PayPal for any reasonable offer, other methods if you prefer. I greatly appreciate the help. Randy

I posted over on Trading but it doesn't seem that as many of you guys frequent that page so I thought I take a chance over here. If you have resin or P.E. you could part with that would be great too. 14. Absolutely Outstanding! You know what I hate about builds like this? It makes me want to build one expecting the same results. Very talented, all of the above. Randy
  15. I used the Glennco 1/48 Redstone, Real Space Models conversion, Real Space Mercury resin, and Revell Mercury/Gemini kit. So far I've got about $100 invested in this kit, wife doesn't know, don't tell her. I've got the build to the paint and I'm trying to figure out a good way to paint the marker/tracking stripes at the top of the vehicle below the capule. I'm doing Shepards 'Freedon 7' ride, scratch that I just found a photo of the capsule and it has the round window. The capsule I have is the square type, guess I'm doing Liberty Bell 7 Grissom's, the only other Redstone rider. The trick
  16. Now that's the ticket. They had plenty in stock and they come with a full compliment of stencils. Hadn't checked that site in a while and the last time they were out. Thanks, Randy
  17. Looking for a set of the VF-84 decals from the early 70's for a 1/32 F-4. CAM decals is out of stock, so is Spruebrothers, Great Models, HLJ, Lucky Model, Yellow Hammer, etc. etc. Let me know if you have a set you can part with, will pay top dollar. Randy
  18. Instructions for the LANDING GEAR! I didn't realize that a flight model of the spacecraft had landing gear, or is this a concept design that never flew. I've been a bit of a space buff for a while now and never seen this on the Gemini capsule. Randy
  19. Absolutely OUTSTANDING build!!! My hats off to you sir. Randy
  20. Pulled some of the larger parts for dryfitting. Just removed the sprues and trimmed, no sanding of the mating surfaces, and the major sections com together pretty darn good. Some of the nightmares might have been averted. I purchased the Shuttle decal set from Ed and it looks really nice. I going to weather this one up, gear up, in prep for the stack. Right now those kits are going for insane money and I don't know why, is there all of the sudden a ton of interest in the orbiter system? The real pain in the tail (hands to be exact) is going to be sanding all of this raised detail off the
  21. Hey guys thanks for the time you spent writing the post. That information I'm sure will be useful. I've dry fit the major pieces and it looks pretty straight compare to the nightmares of ole'. Maybe in this new series they've changed up the plastic, modified the process, or something because it looks pretty good. I'm gonna get the thing tapes up and post a few pics. Randy
  22. That is one good looking bird you've got there son! Just the right amount of weathering for a showplane. If you put another aftermarket set in it you could probably spin it up and go round the pattern a couple of times. OUTSTANDING! Randy
  23. Just got in the Revell 1/72 Space Shuttle and cut open the box to find a massive model! Tip to tail this is 21 inches! I'll bet the thing weighs three pounds (adding a few things) by the time it finished. And, I'm going to build one as a full stack for display. That's gonna be about three feet tall when done. Going to be very impressive when complete, my wife is thrilled with my new found smaller scale but much larger models, like 1/72 shuttle, 1/144 Saturn Rocket, 1/144 (3 foot)attack submarine, and things like that. At least I'm not building 1/48 spacecraft and such. Excited about thi
  24. LF the Cutting Edge/Meteor Productions 1/72 decal sheet for the space shuttle. Much of the stuff for the shuttle is out of production so I have to rely on your generosity. Let me know is you have this or anything else space shuttle and let's make a deal. Randy
  25. On the 1/72nd set does that include decals for the entire spacecraft. On the nose, body, engines , etc.? Randy
