Revell C5A Galaxy.  I was "Kursing" as I applied the walkway stripes . . . .  The decal film is probably around around 1/32" wide.  VERY delicate, but I persevered and over the course of a week, decaled the model.

I was a C-5A loadmaster in the 22nd Military Airlift Squadron from 1975-1980. I've got time in that tail and in that paint scheme...my favorite of the "Big Jet"

schemes! Great job! Oh...and nothing like the howl of those old TF-39 engines either!

  2. If you're building a HC from way back...Gray with the yellow bands around the fuselage and wing tips

they didn't have any defensive systems yet. No chaff/flare or RWR for radar threats.

  3. Yes...same position left and right and the seats were adjustable. Face forward for takeoff

and land and could turn and face the window or rotate to look aft if you wanted too. Both seats

were mounted on a pedestal with rails to move forward and aft.

  4. The big scanner windows up front are 22" x 16" left and right side.

There are scanner seats at both positions inside. They are the same

    as the navigator seats.

  5. The J kit you have also has the H model left front wheel sponson with the APU.

You need the one from the E model kit with the GTC sponson. You need C-130E/H

engines with the 4 blade props as well.

  6. Didn't see the square troop door window option or the GTC

sponson for the left wheel well. Everything else looks vintage

C-130E. Minus the engines/props of course!

  7. I have the window dimensions...have to look for it. The E/H engines will work.

The differences are internal. Does that J kit have the E GTC left wheel sponson?

And the HC didn't have the air conditioning scoop on the right wheel well or the

intake up front on the right. It was just the old NACA ducts. Inside the big windows

up front on the right was a scanner seat...like on the flight deck. The right side had

a scanner seat and the control station for the tracker dome on top the fuselage.

    Cheers...Ron

  8. Don't forget the big side windows up front and the ODS rails on the cargo door. Square troop door windows too. They had -15 engines

but that was the same engine cowling as the -7 used on the C-130E. When you build the flight deck the navigator and radio operator

were staggered on the right side...no bunks like on the E model. The P model still had the GTC...no APU so use the kit left front

    wheel sponson.
