I like it! Great job!

That's awesome! A Herk in SEA paint is always my favorite.

J-79.....

It's an origional logo from Lockheed....I have the patch my dad wore on his flight suit when he was stationed
at Edwards AFB in the late 50's early 60's. There was no mistake it was a 104 in the pattern with the J-70 howl.

That's awesome! Hope you can slide that wing through and not break an HF antenna!
Waiting to see the finished EC Hercules sitting on the parking ramp.

Pretty funny though! One of the maintenance guys here put the radar control panel
in a MC-J back in backwards. I said he had his job guide upside down and it matched
the picture.....

I think they hung the externals backwards....the QRC-84-02 pods should be to the outside aft end of the external.

The 121....another Lockheed product!

I flew in a few C-130E's still in SEA paint and the right side of the tail
the brown was done to look like a birds head. It was awesome!

Wow! That's awesome work. We have some Harrisburg crews here converting to the MC-J.
They would love seeing their old legacy EC when it's done!

Those two top pictures show it removed with the cover plate in place.
The MC-J system is very small...a square plate with about 200 rivets
and the ball is probably the size of a soccer ball....maybe smaller.

One of the best looking airlifters ever built!
But I am a Herk guy.....

Some nice models there! I like those B-24's and the 2 F-15's. The outside airplanes need some resto work but it was good to see them.
Thanks for sharing!

They are going to be the gunship training squadron here at Kirtland

Great job Steve! The 73rd SOS is standing up here at Kirtland next month and we should have some AC-J's
on the ramp shortly after that.

I remember seeing the F-16A that was painted like that in the test team at Edwards...along with the A-10A and F-15A's in the
day glow/air superiority blue. I built the old Hasagawa 32nd scale F-16 that was in that scheme. Great to see it revived!

Gonna be awesome to see this come together! The 193rd is converting to the MC-130J. We are training them up here at Kirtland.
The SOLO J models are being de-modded and I think one of their pilots said the Navy is getting them for something.

That clear dome is the "bubble" that goes in the overhead hatch. We put them in the MC when we flew air intercepts against the F-15's at Kadena or the Korean F-4's.
Gave a great view to scan for threats. The hatch mounted comm antenna has a swept back satellite antenna on it and the cables run back into the cargo compartment
and plug in to the boxes on the right side. It's used for some specialized equipment that we carried extra crewmembers for.

New prop domes are gloss black but as they fly and sit in the sun and fly through rain it dulls pretty quick to a semi gloss to
eventually a flat black color. You could always tell whrn your airplane had a new prop installed!

Not to take anything away from this but on May 17th the is a IMAX documentary about the Blue Angels coming to the IMAX theater near you!

No worries, I think I know what I´m doing. 😉 What I meant was that I will use the Zvesda kit to practice - I have built 5 or 6 Italeri Hercs, and two AMT Hercs, and one Esci and one Airfix.
This will be my first Zvesda Herc and many things are default, especially internal parts, gear and so on. At least these parts will be the sam ewhen I do my MC-130E with a Zvesda kit.
I plan to start an extra MC-130E thread to gather all knowledge and intel concerning the Combat Talon I. I already have a couple of pictures and documents, but there is still plenty of personal knowledge here on ARC that I would love to learn from.
HAJO
HAJO...email me! I have a lot of pictures of the Combat Talon 1. I also have a MC-130E dash 1 flight manual.
aircommando130@comcast.net I'll be glad to help you out. I'm working on a Fulton nose T1 in 48th scale.

The F-117 was truly an amazing airplane. Earned it's money during Desrt Storm and still 4 of them
flying today! Another great workhorse from Lockheed! (I'm partial having flown the C-5A/B, C-130E
MC-130P, MC-130H)

That turned out awesome! I like the props with the yellow tips vs. the gray.
