  1. Hallo Edd, Just saw this nice collection of yours. Quite a change from the deltas but very well executed. You have done a lot of research here my friend, also checked the build article. I think you now need to add a few before the Pacific ones, namely a few SAAF ones in Italy . Send me a mail, I will discuss the info with you. Very well done again. Kind regards, Piet.
  2. Hallo Brenden, Visit the IPMS South Africa website at the following link for an article on the SAAF BK-117. http://newsite.ipmssa.za.org/content/view/59/28/1/3/ The article will lead to you a gallery with almost 400 walkaround and detail photographs of these helicopters. You need to register to enter the gallery, but this is free and quick and will be worth your while if you want to build a nice detailed model of these outstanding workhorses. Kind regards, Piet.
  3. Andrew, Although not a boffin on the MiG-21 loadout I would like to suggest the following as a reason why so few if none photographs are available of the config you want to model. The rocket pods are air-to-ground weapons thus the aircraft would then mainly be tasked for an air-to-ground sortie when such armed. It is unlikely that it would then be loaded with four missiles as this would be an enormous amount of drag, greatly reducing the useable range, on an already short ranged fighter. It could carry missiles for self-defence but would most likely be limited to 2 x IR missiles. However
  4. Hallo Ed, The Harriers has really come out well my friend. Glad that you were able to rescue them after the problem you encountered with the cracking of the varnish. Could you please e-mail me the summary that is in your last post on the Romanian site in English? Will really appreciate it. Kind regards, Piet.
  5. Hallo Ed, Wondered why you were so quiet for so long. The whole family of Harriers are all looking good. I especially like the way that you did the new intakes on the GR-7. Well done my friend, a nice addition to your lovely collection. Kind regards, Piet.
  6. Hi Shaun, That is looking a lot better my friend. The probe and canards now looks like the real thing. If possible, I would still just like to see the dogtooth a bit sharper and parrallel to the airflow/fuselage centreline. It looks as if they still angle out a little bit on the photograph. I think your seat came out quite nice and it is looking good sizewise. I was unfortunately not able to obtain the exact measurements, but I am sure you will be able to work the overall height out from photographs showing the headpiece in relation with the fuselage and canopy. If you need more photogr
  7. Hi Shaun, Edd is unfirtunately correct, there is quite a bit of work to do still in the conversion. The Cheetah C had the fuselage extension as mentioned, not the Cheetah E. I also agree, the canards are to far back, but that is coupled to the fuselage extension. The canards also sit higher up the fuselage sides than what you have them at present. The probe will need to be reworked totally. The Cheetah E never flew with the JL-100 launchers, which looks to be a little bit big in scale as well. The dogtooth on the wing is parallel to the fuselage, not to the wing leading edge and the Che
  8. Hallo Ed, Looking good my friend and it does fit in nicely with your "Mirage" theme, it was after all quite often only an "Illusion in the sky"!!! Cheers, Piet.
  9. Looking at the topic, I think we can expect an all over Grey one with Argentinian markings to join this collection.............???? Cheers Ed, Piet
  10. Hallo Ed, Those castings are looking very good my friend. She will look beautiful with her SAAF colour scheme on her, looking forward to the completed product. Kind regardes, Piet.
  11. Thanks Ed, that's the part that had me wondering...... Kind regards, Piet.
  12. Hallo Ed, The Mirages are looking good my friend. Looking forward to the final results. Can you please give a bit more detail on the reshaping that you did of the fins. Did you just change the angles and rescribe or did you add some additional plastic? Thanks my friend, Cheers, Piet.
  13. Hi Ed, Good to see some progress again my friend. Looking forward to the painting and finishing stages. Kind regards. Piet.
  14. Hallo Ed, The camouflage is looking good so far, I also use the Humbrol colours on my Israeli aircraft and are happy with the results. For F-16's I use RAF Sky as the green colour, for the F-4, A-4, Kfir, etc, as you have given the Humbrol numbers. Looking forward to the finished product. Once done, show us some photographs of the complete delta collection!! Cheers, Piet.
  15. Hi Edd, Please note on the SAAF Mirage IIIRZ that 857 was not a MIrage IIIRZ as noted on the decals, but a Mirage IIIR2Z. Main differences were an Atar-9K-50 engine instead of the Atar-9C of the RZ, as well as a flat plate Doppler antenna below the nose and not the fairing as on the RZ. Also had different EW antennas on the tailfin. So for an RZ the serial number 835 is correct, but not 857. The R2Z's arrived in the Buff and Green colour scheme and were never painted in the Grey/Green scheme. THe RZ's were delivered in the Grey/Green scheme and were, thereafter, repainted in the Buff/Gre
