  1. Not to be picky Nick but it looks like you need to replace some rivets at the front of the canopy on the left side. This is turning out to be a very interesting build. Great job so far. Trevor
  2. Exstreamly talented paint job and weathering. This turned out just beutiful! Great Job Trevor
  3. Looking good Blackcolor. This is going to interesting to see finished. Its been a while since Ive seen any battle damaged AC. Trevor
  4. Id say theres Plenty! to see. More pics! Looking good,
  5. Doing an excelant job with your first attempt at weathering. I would only add that if you spray a very thin and light coat of the Base over the lighter colors again, it would tone it down just slightly and blend it all together. Hope you dont mind the input. Cheers Trevor M
  6. Bingo! Brad-M. That will be taken care of. Thanks for the heads up!

  8. You Nailed it Gary! Looks absolutly amazing.! I hope mine turns out as good as yours. But... It never will cause Im still waiting for decals.(it only been 1 1/2 years now);) Glad to see youve got here done. Trevor
  9. Thank you 'dragan_mig31' But as I mentioned in an earlier reply. "paint is paint" just treat it like the paint that you use now. Im sure you can produce some outstanding work yourself. As you use a different type of paint, you will become more familiar with the different properties each one has. Ive learned that the negative properties of Allclad, is that it goes on thick!(filling all rivets);) and that its very soft. and because its applied to a very smooth serface that it peals off eaisly when masked. BUT on the positive side. It drys almost instantly.:) Thats about it for the positive sid
  10. Thanks a Ton Gary. Yes after looking at the Phantom photos, I do feel like adding a litle more as you sugested. The only thing is that I just dont want to over do it. Im still tossing the coin on that subject. It is after all 1/72. Thanks again for you input. Thanks "janman" I geuss Im on the right track. Thanks a lot 'Raptor Supporter' . I have to admit I was a bit timid at first. But "Paint is Paint" I geuss. It is a lot Softer than acylics ive noticed. I also found out the hard way, that you must use very UN-tacky tape for masking. Its been a good learning experiance for me and I can
  11. Thoose are some FINE! looking Zippers. Nice job on both. Trevor
  12. Thanks Jerry, You should know that when I started painting the AC I had all your experiance from previous post to work from. You the MAN!
  13. As you can see Ive added silver to the panel edges and then I coated the intire area with very thin smoke to tie it all together. The wash will have to wait till the decals are on. The camera isnt very freindly. The Blue isnt near as bright in real life. So What do you guys think. Did this work? Is it convincing? Comments and critisizim is always welcome. Time to finish the rest of the AC Thanks Trevor
  14. And heres what she looks like after the light coat on top of the blue
  15. Looks spectacular Gary Im going to have to try an oil wash some day. I use pastels and have to agree they are fragile. Trevor
  16. OK I think you can see were this is going now. Ive used 4000 grit to bring up the blue. Right now its kinda like black and white but with a very light coat of metal again it should all blend in nicely. Then a coat of smoke and some silvering of the edges and I think...hope it will all work together.

  24. I used "sticky post it's" Takes about 15 seconds to mask off a panel and paint it. plus the Post its, are very low tack. Hows it going Jerry. I painted the black first and then painted the rest of the AC with flat white. Followed up by sanding the entire AC with 8000 grit wet paper. I didnt want to paint the black ontop of the white cause I felt it might fill up the 1 thousand or so rivets that I added free hand. This way the paint is still very thin. After I spayed the Alclad I again Sanded the AC with 8000 grit. When Im finished all the panels I will again sand the surface to a high glo
