  1. Aaahhhh...... I should have waited another day to place my last order 😂 More stuff to buy from John! Top quality stuff too 👍 Fred K.
  2. Now you're talking serious work Dutch 😂 Fred.
  3. Hi Robert, Don't let a couple of video's scare you off from building any of the BPK 737 kits. Yes, they are large, and no they don't fit like Tamiya. They will take some work, mostly trimming and test fitting parts, but do go together well enough. There is a lot of sanding due to their size. Check out the link below for my build of the 737-800. The biggest problems that I had were the clear window inserts, and painting gloss white. Both of which you won't have to contend with when building the Poseidon. Just about every other issue was of my own making in trying to learn how to paint
  4. That sounds about right.....
  5. Indeed, and they're peeing their pants to get them too. They're praying that the E-3 fleet holds together for a few more years, as their reported availability rate drops below 60%. Nothing that I've read gives any reason as to why the USAF has waited so long to procure the Wedgetail though. Don't know 🤔 Fred.
  6. Me, me, me, me!! It looks like BPK is taking pre-orders for their 1/72nd scale E-7 Wedgetail kit. I've been waiting for this one! The second image is not an actual photo as the USAF is not scheduled to even have prototypes until 2027. But the Aussies, South Korea and Turkey are already flying them. Don't be surprised if more countries don't get them too. Another cool subject from BPK! Fred K. https://bigplaneskits.com/shop/big-planes-kits/e-7a/
  7. Hi guys, Well believe it or not, I had enough "fun" with this kit that I've started another one. This one will be the Delta 737-900ER that my wife and I flew on to Mexico last year. Without getting into it too much, I had to cut up a second 737-800 kit to get the necessary fuselage plugs to do the 900ER, which is longer than the -800 that the BPK kit represents. Thankfully, I was then able to cut down the donor kit to make the shortest of the NG series, the -700/C-40. BPK has since released a -700/C-40 kit, but I'm doing it the hard way. Anyway, while working on the -900 bu
  8. Thanks for sharing my pain everyone 🤣🤣 Any time I see someone post something like this on their build thread it just makes a little sick to my stomach. So anyway..... I got the wing glued back on, then got some gap filling super glue on, and started sanding. I do have another one of these kits, so I will use the wing walk decal from it to repair the one that got sanded. So thankfully it looks as if this whole mess will just be a little set back and nothing more 👍 Thanks for your kind comments! Fred.
  9. AAARRGGHHH!!!!! Just when everything was going well and I was making progress...... the kit slid off of my bench and into the five gallon trash bucket and blew the right wing off in the process 🤬🤬🤬! Ahhh.... sometimes this hobby really tests my patience! It's fixable, but what a setback.... Fred.
  10. Hi Kursad, I predict that these will sell out quickly for you 😉 Fred K.
  11. Hi everyone, Well it's been awhile since I last worked on this build, but now it's getting towards the finish line! After months of back and forth between sanding, priming, and attempts at painting, I finally found a system that has given me satisfactory results. Basically I decided to give spraying Tamiya white or Mr Surfacer white through my airbrush a go. I'd read about it for years, but never tried it. What a difference it made after a light sanding! I used Tamiya laquer white for the white area's, MRP Boeing Gray for the wings, and Model Master chrome for the leadin
  12. From what I understand, they don't need to be thinned. I use them straight out of the bottle. HTH, Fred K.
  13. Those are real beauties John! Pocket Money A-6 and A-7 here I come! By the way.... John made up some AN/ALE-41 chaff pods, and ALQ-170 Missile Simulator/Countermeasure pods for me in 72nd scale, and the quality is outstanding 👍 Fred K.
  14. I started off with 48th scale about 30 years ago. After a short while though I found that I was really struggling to complete anything, and display shelf space was becoming a problem. One day a buddy of mine came by and gave me the Italeri (ESCI) 72nd F-5A kit. I was amazed at how well detailed the kit was (except for the cockpit), and started work on it right away. I had it done within a few weeks and was quite happy with it. It still sits in my display case to this day. At the time the only 48th F-5A kit that was out was the ancient Testors kit, and there were several other kits that I wante
  15. You're welcome 😉 Let us know how the kit builds up. I'm still debating on getting one or not. $40 for such a small kit is rather expensive. Fred.
  16. How can you possibly get anything done being that organized 🤣 Fred K.
  17. Huh.... I've never heard of that brand before. I did attempt an RVHP resin conversion EA-7L many years ago.... in fact, the decals that I'm going to use come mostly from that set. However, I could never get all of the pin holes in the resin filled to my satisfaction, so the whole thing got chucked out. Hopefully the PE set you have is better. If it's that old, I'm guessing its not 🤣 Fred.
  18. Hi Dutch! Well I will certainly do my best with the kits, but whether they'll see a contest or not remains to be seen. I generally don't build for contests as it takes the fun away for me, but if something turns out well enough, it might get entered. I'm mainly building these two just to hang some neat weapons on 😉 Regards, Fred.
  19. Thanks! But don't look too closely 😆 Fred.
  20. Hi everyone, Time for an update. I got all of the internal parts painted up and installed on both jets. I cut the rear end of the intake trunks out to allow me to sand the inside of the intake from both ends. For the EA-7L the interior of the intake is white. A big hole at the end of it might be noticeable, so I took half of a Hasegawa S-3 intake fan, and glued it to the rear of the trunk , so when you look in, you can see fan blades. For the A-7K the interior color is the same as the exterior paint scheme.... gunship grey. Once painted up its so dark in there that you can't s
  21. Hi, It's already listed in the list of goodies that I intend to use for the EA-7L. Definitely a big miss by HB! Thanks, Fred.
