  1. From what I have seen in pics all around, it is not uncommon to see F-16s with two Mavericks...that's how I'm doing my OH ANG bird... Cheers, Dave
  2. LGTR - Laser Guided Training Round Cheers, Dave
  3. If you have some available, use Bare-Metal foil for that area. I use it for my Tomcats. Super quick, works perfect for me. No masking to deal with, just have a very sharp knife. Cheers, Dave
  4. Got my Jolly Rogers History Sheet Decals from VF-Decals. Absolutely awesome. Thanks Guys. Cheers, Dave
  5. I have a pic around here somewhere for a VA-196 Intruder with c/l tank, MERs on all wing pylons. Inboard MERs with 2 Mk20s each(on the center stows on the MER) and three Mk 83s on each outboard MER (Two on fwd Shoulders, one on aft center point) HTH, Cheers, Dave
  6. I remember working at an airshow as a kid (in Civil Air Patrol) doing ground direction stuff at an airport on the outskirts of Cincy and standing in front of a P-47. I was his signal and safety guy and got the call to tell him he could start up. I signalled him and he fired it up...absolutely awesome...most beautiful sound in the world. I will never forget that... Cheers, Dave

    906 TFG

That is the bird I wanna do, there's a beautiful pic of it on one of the sites, but I think the only thing I really need is the a good shot of the Rhinos Badge/Crest at the top... Thanks, Dave
  9. Gents, Quick question, do any of the boxings of Hasegawa's 1/48 F-14s have the same Stallions decals that are in the 1/72 kit? Thanks, Dave

    906 TFG

Hey All, I was wondering if anyone has any pics of 906 TFG birds (Tailcode DO, Reserve Bird). I have been to their site and F-16.net and other places like that on the net and have a handful, just wondering if there were others. I was hoping to get enough references to try get a one-off sheet made for me. I have the repli-scale sheet in 1/72 for their F-16, but I want to do a bird in 1/48 to go with my OH ANG birds. Thanks, Dave
  11. Not normally a fan of -11 markings, but I'll admit those look pretty sweet... Cheers, Dave
  12. Hey I love your guys work... I'm completely pleased/ impressed with everything you have done. Can't wait for my JR sheets to appear. Unfortunately missed the boat on those VX-30 markings, but that's the fun of being in the Navy right. I wish you guys every luck, I was just trying to make the point that 70s/80s markings might be hard for the same reasons you mentioned before. I've been digging for reserve pics since you made your initial response to me. Cheers, Dave
  13. A revisit of the 70s and 80s would be pretty cool too. I think we'll run into the same type of problem as mentioned in the comments for reserve birds... a viable option would be providing just the major artwork (Tails/stripes/other art) and generic numbers and leave the BuNo and names etc to the modeler. Cheers, Dave
  14. Personally I wouldn't really have interest in the last demo birds (hey, stop throwing things at me)...never get to see them anyway...spending my time underwater and all. I would kill for markings of the old reserve squadrons...but, knowing me and my giant tomcat decal stash I'd still buy the sheet I guess... Anything to keep Tomcat Decal guys in business Cheers, Dave
  15. How 'bout USAF Mavericks...I assume they follow the same gray for real, green for training from pics I have seen...anyone verify that? Also, does the USAF ever use the triple rail launcher on F-16s or was it just tested. I'm using single rails for my OH ANG bird, since I have spent almost this entire midwatch scratchbuilding them Just wondering, always learning... Cheers, Dave
  16. Hey All, just to follow up on my earlier post...the 1/72 Hasegawa kit with the toilet bomb was kit BP104. Cheers, Dave
  17. Murph, Thanks for the info. You flyboys keep changing things around...all my weapons are green...unless they're orange...but orange doesn't go boom. :P Cheers, Dave
  18. Hey All, It appears to me that the base color of Sidewinders changed as the main color of the carrier aircraft changed...so, my question is: If the Phoenixes started as all white (or nearly) when Navy aircraft were Gray over white...and ended as Light Ghost Gray (with the white nose and "dark metal" fins) when Tomcats were DGG/MG/LGG, were Phoenix bodies predominately Light Gull Gray when the aircraft were overall Light Gull Gray? Thanks, Cheers, Dave
  19. I have the Hasegawa 1/72 release of the "toilet" bomber of VA-25. The packaging is marked as A-1H Skyraider "Special Bomb". I don't have it right in front of me (I'm on the midwatch at work in Hawaii at the moment) so I can't tell you the kit number. If anyone is interested I will add it later. Cheers, Dave
  20. Awesome looking. Love a good black tail. Nice and simple...better than some of the more colorful but overdone jobs... Cheers, Dave
  21. Well, my three weeks of grief in Korea is over, and all I have to show for it is memories of the 3 B-2 Stealth Bombers sitting on the flightline at Andersen AFB in Guam where my charter flight took a break at. Unfortunately I wasn't fast enough to whip out the camera. I'm gonna sew it to my hand from now on. During the rest of the exercise I missed out on seeing any military hardware other than 2ID's Abrams and Bradleys. What a waste. Oh, well at least I can return to building from the stash... Hope everyone else has been more productive the last three weeks than I have. Cheers, Dave
  22. Dang, even E-1 Tracers... Tears welling up... trying to hold back... Dave
  23. OH ANG A-7Ds were used in Operation Just Cause in Panama while they were there for a "training" deployment. Cheers, Dave
  24. Efrain (EF) is an awesome trader. He sent me a set of decals that are absolutely awesome. Super big thumbs up on EF. Cheers, Dave
  25. Anyone have any idea what kind of loadouts the OH ANG A-7Ds were carrying during Operation Just Cause? I have come up empty everywhere I have looked. Cheers, Dave
